i am starting a tyranid army now and was wondering if necrons were any good?
In short, yes.
They are a very good army because they are so touch to get rid of. You kill them, they come back, etc. From my experience with my Necrons, Necrons have an advantage over Tyranids, they can kill most of your army without too much problems. And if they take a C'tan, your in even greater trouble.
Just pray you don't playa Meat Grinder mission with them as the defenders...
necrons are 1 of the toughest armies in 40k.
they have some very interesting special rules.
for instance, their standard model, a necron warrior, can shoot a tank or a wraithlord down..
they always wound or glance on a 6.
and the few models that necrons have are mostly rapid fire, assault 2, assault 3, heavy 3, heavy 1,
their really easy to play with, since they have so little weapons, models, special rules.
you would need some tactic with them, because they have the 25% phase out rule.
meaning, if you have only 25% of your original army, you would lose automatically.
Well put Ice!
whey are not the best but they are not the worst if i was finkin about starting i would chose necron
