Welcome to Librarium Online!
this weekend im facing necrons for the first time, im a bit of a noob and wondering what i have to avoid and what i need to exploid. 800 points is the point value and thats about all i got. 26 sluggas with 3 big shoota and a nob, 17 shootas with 3 big unz. (big shootas are included). 10 trukk boys with sluggas and choppas with 1 nob. a warboss in mega armour cybork, all kustoms and kombi scorcha. 2 kannons.
Well if your playing Necrons at 800 pts lvl the chances of you facing a monolith are next to nothing unless your opponent has an obsession with them. You have a lot of guys with choppas obviously which will help reduce armour saves massively
Necron warriors can be turned into mincemeat just avoid those gauss guns hitting the trukk. It could buy you some time with moveable cover though
Try and manoeuvre your units to swamp smaller units individually moving across the battlefield systematically eliminating opponents.
Necron Elite units are very tough so concentrate on those. Necron Lords aren't too great though.
Anyway there's some vague help.
If you need anymore have you got an idea about what you're fighting?
as you said im 95% sure that he wont use a monolith. well he told me but cant be to sure. he said something about 20 models ( im fielding about 60) and he gots about all the models to necrons so its hard to tell
I dont play orks but I can give you a tip.
Last time I played orks, I used a VOD (Veil of Dakrness) to outmaneuver the orks horriblly. It allows you to re-deestrike the lord and a squad every turn, even if in CC.
Make sure you take a lot of trukks. If you skimp, and there blown up, you may never be able to get into CC.
Be very careful. 2 Teleporting units (of a lord with warriors) can be played in 800 points. Still, one mistake with this and his toast, GO CHOPPAS!
Mentor of Space Marine Commanders far and wide.
Efficiency VS Point Cost VS Ease Of Use - Your best bets:
1) Chaplain led Assault squad - 2 plasma pistols, powerfisted sergeant
2) 8 man Devastator squad - 4 missile launchers
3) Land Speeder Tornado - HB + AC
With any shooting that you get, make sure that you fire it all at one squad unless you can charge a different squad. Always aim to either wipe out a squad, so they cant WBB, or swamp 'em and make them leg it, if they run over 6" away the dead ones cant get back up.
thanks for all the help so far, however i hope more people can state their oppinion.
believe it or not you can out shoot the warriors ...with the big shootas you can pump out alot of shots at a higher range then the basic necrons... keep that trukk in cover or behind it... then launch it out at break neck speeds...jump out and charge the enemy when they get in range or if they try to veil themselves closer to you.... march up with the sluggas and try to hug cover as much as possible... the trukk can even serve as a distraction beating down a unit...stopping them from shooting.. while the sluggas make their way up (literally use the fight as cover so no one can shoot through it at you) and keep those shootas firing at max range.... it shouldnt even be that hard unless you find your self staring down a mass warrior army... or immortals... anything closecombatty you should be able to cripple ...no worries orks NEVER LOSE!

thanks for all the help. the war is over and it was another glorious victory for the orcs. i litterly crushed them. necrons are weaker than i thought .
well me being a current Necron player im sorry to hear that. but i have always looked at orks through the window while sitting in a tree so for that (perverted) side of me im happy to see youre succesful with them. keep on waaaghin.
