Welcome to Librarium Online!
I've been playing ulthwe for lots of years, looking at these plain boring black guardians day and day.. drives me sane as they look too basic, and nothing colorbul as i might have want it to be...
so i'm planning to repaint, my army, possibly use a non existant craftworld out of hte 5's main one's color...
so im seeking other members help generate some ideas throughout my head.. as i have none...
for those who have armies non main craftworld color, what colors you use?
or for those who have ideas, but haven't tried it, any suggestions??
Im creating a craftworld of my own too, and this is my colors:
Main color: Blood Red. I do not wan´t to look like the Saim-Hann guys, because they are not. I chose Blood Red because my craftworld is supposed to be soe kind of Khaine-cult of order (Im going to write the fluff soon). The Blood Red color is somewhat secondary on my vehicles.
Secondary Color: Chaos black. The helmets of my guardians are black, with white face masks. I know that the white Saim-hann helmets look cool, but since my army is not Saim-hann, I picked another color. My vehicles are primarily black, with red markings. I Haven´t picked a color to paint the underside yet.
Red Gore, with Regal Blue and Space Wolves Grey. Mine are Saim-Hann.
All the old Specialist Games resources are currently being uploaded at the Tactical Command forums, and you can find them here: http://www.sg.tacticalwargames.net/fanatic/.
Ishmaeril Craftworld (vanilla):
Main colours orange and black. Guardians are orange with black helmets, Wraithlord is orange head and black body/limbs. Vehicles are gloss black with Orange around the engine intakes.
Pretty much all ranged weapons are brass heavily drybrushed over black.
Dire Avengers: Black and Midnight Blue (orange plumes).
Scorpions: Dark Angels Green.
Banshees: Bleached bone suit under white armour, orange hair.
Warp Spiders: Standard scheme, except red is very dark, and white areas replaced with orange covered with black web pattern.
Dark Reapers: Brass/Gunmetal mix.
As i play Ulthwé too, i'm not the best one to recommend a colour scheme.
But my friend paints his Eldar baby blue and purple, so i'll just warn you not to choose this colour scheme as it looks really faggy.
If you have Dawn of War, use the army painter and browse some ideas.
Otherwise, some suggestions i have:
Deep red Purple
Warhammer Fantasy: Warriors of Chaos, High Elves
Warhammer 40k: Eldar, Space Marines, Orks
i tried painting my Wraithlord a mixture of Ice Blue and Tentacle pink but it just didnt turn out right so im also looking for a nother colour scheme but this guy told me to add an undercoat of grey but i never tried it maybe u could
Check it out.
Its new but it will grow if people join.
Craftworld Bra'an Wenn - bleached bone and different shades of brown inks and stuff, it basicly looks like unpainted wraitbone (which i can only assume looks like bone  ) with all the symbols and junk painted in black. I'm thinking of incorporating a white raven into the scheme somehow.
hmm i'll run some tests, kinda interested in that orange color scheme ish hah.
And some blue ish or teal ish color test runs too.
Colourschem to me looks somewhat Alaitocish but anyways.
Midnight blue undercoat, armor pieces are done with Enchanted blue, the shoulder plates and faceplate is ultramarine blue and the helmets are ice blue on my guardians. bits of boltgun metal on the guns and clips.
Dark reapers are painted mithril silver with a black ink wash.
Rangers and snot green with Dark Angels green stripes.
Swooping Hawks, undrsuit is Midnight blue, armor is Ice blue, wings are white and ultramarines blue.
vehicles are ice blue and enchanted blue, engines are done in silver.
All gems are done in blood red.
