I'm looking at a few different craftworlds and I've bought a lot of Eldar models that I have not painted yet.
I've created an Alaitoc list because I like Rangers and I like the color scheme.
Then I began to view the other craftworlds because an all shooty army I hear can bet pretty boring.
So I'm starting to give Ulthwe another look and maybe even Beil-Tan
Can anyone give me any tips on how they configure their See Councils? Also, can I place my Seer Council in a Falcon if the Seer Council is no more then 6 models?
Here is how I would like to configure them:
Ruins of Witnessing
Ruins of Witnessing
And then throw them in a Falcon if it's legal.
Most people dislike Eldritch Storm, and i would especially say to not take it if the farseer also has mindwar. I personally try to keep the unit low on points, so give them fairly little in the amount of... really anything. Mine is entirely for defensive purposes, not that you need/have to do that. They can be put in a falcon, one idea if you do that though, would be to give one seer guide so you can cast it on the falcon while you are in it. Also, i'm not a fan of witchblades on warlocks. They are the first to die in the unit, so why give them 15 point weapons if they most likely will not use it much at all?
Thanks. I actually deleted Eldtriych storm right after I put it in. Mind War is a great way kill ICs.
I'll ad on another Warlock instead of taking Eldritch storm...
Also, if you know that the people you play like to take big stuff (nonsterous creatures for Necro's, Landraiders and Monoliths, etc.) these guys are very handy. Singing spears allow you to start whacking them from far away. Let's face it, you don't want these guys in CC, you have troops for that sort of thing.
Yeah, this is excellent! TY Angel of Rust!

when I started with Ulhtwe I equipped also my warlocks with witchblades till I figured it drained ALOT of points. if you get like 2 witchblades thats the same like 3 warlocks. . . I always equip my farseers with witchblades and use the warlocks as meatshield this is how I ussaly use my seer council in a large multiplayer batlle for getting those big dangerous things down like hives abbadon or something like that.
Fortune WB pistol ROW.
4 times farseers
mindwar WB pistol ROW
4 times warlocks
augment pistol CCW
enhance pistol CCW
1 warlock PERHAPS embolden
and a couple more sometimes to function as a meatshield.
I attach ussaly my avatar to the council to make it fearless (hehe) and my allies ussaly put things like librarians assasins archons or other painfull HQ's in the council so they will reach the opposite side of the table. (there is like a 98% chance they will )
In smaller games its ussaly better to keep your council as small as possible.
farseer wb pistol fortune ROW
farseer mindwar(or)guide wb pistol ROW
5 times warlocks
1 augment 1 enhance 1 embolden 2 meatshields with pistols CCW
Altough the council may nto seem liek a threath it is a threat. (Well at least in my case) going forward mindwarring every turn the exarches HQ's or other things liek that will make them a pain in the ass. Also when they get close they ripp ussaly around 2-3 tanks getting there pts back really easy or slowing down big groups of CC units.
However with that statement out of the way, I would say listen to ArchonBjorn. He has a really good tendency to not say stupid things and give bad advice.Learn from yesterday.

I just ran a 1000 point game against Emperor's Children... mindwar is a beautiful thing. First turn i halve the wounds on his daemon prince with mindwar then the falcon finished it off.
The council was; 1 farseer w/ mindwar ROW, and GH (pistol too)
1 farseer w/ fortune ROW, GH (tambien una pistola)
1 warlock w/ augment and pistol
2 meatshield warlocks
Sadly, this unit got torn to shreds. At the end of the game there was merely the two seers, with three wounds between the two. I think I perril'd of the warp like three time, which also killed my augment warlock. Not good stuff, granted that is all they accomplished with their shooting.
I never buy Mindwar, for me, Farseers only get guide. I suppose if you play against people who like tooled up HQs, Mindwar might be useful. But the ability to help my Rank and File more effectively kill 10 guys per turn is more important for me than the ability of my HQ to kill one guy per turn.
I love my Seer council. In 1000pt games i have
2 Farseers: 1; Singing spear, ROW, Fortune
1; WB, pistol, ROW, Mind war
4 Warlocks: 1; WB, pistol, enhance
1; WB, pistol,
1; Augment, ROW, CCW, pistol
1; CCW, pistol
With it i killed the Chaos Space marine guys (my opponents) Chaos lord (by mind war), 2 heavily tooled aspiring champs (with mind war), Heavy bolterer (with mind war), Dreadnougth (with singing spear) and his close combat squad of chaos space marines. By the end i only hade the farseers, but they still made a profit in points.
I'm thinking of using a secong mindwar (buy using a third farsser, as fortune is too good not to use).

Sorry, I'm an Eldar n00b, and as such, should be asking the Eldar n00b questions.
Can a Farseer use the psychic power that allows units to re-roll shots (can't remember the name) on vehicles like the Falcon?
Ok, based on a few of the items that were raised in some of the previous posts, I have a few questions:
1) Can a Seer Council in a Transport or a Falcon still use Psychic powers? Example Fareer inside a Falcon uses a power such as guide/mindwar/fortune.
2) How does casualty removal work when attacking a Seer council? They all have 4+ Inv saves, the Farseers have 3 wounds each.
3) Can anynone comment on the effectiveness of a Seer Coucil and can Warlocks be equipped with items that Fareers can normally wear?
Last but not least, I was thinking of Fieldig 2 Wraithlords and the Avatar in my 1850 points list. Is that cheesy? Someone at GW told me that people would get mad at me for fielding such a list. I didn't think that it would be that bad. Is that true?
