Welcome to Librarium Online!
Im a newb and went to agaming day 2day at gw. I brought a carnifex (or twisterfex because of mutable genus) 3 leaping warriors (cyclone warriors), 2x6 genestealer units and 3 ripper swarms. Anyway when I get there the mission i a take and hold. I think 'great, with my warriors speed I'll get to the ruins we are meant to be holding in no time.' The board was fairly small, and there was seven 500 pt armies on it, including tau, necrons, space marines and chaos. After wiping out the entire chaos and tau armies, only losing 4 stealers, with some help from a sm player (there was about 4 sm armies), i headed towards the ruins with my warriors. I moved in the movement phase, and was about to fleet when I was stopped by a member of staff who was assisting us told me they couldnt, and whatever I had been told in forums was wrong. So is it true? If it is, where can i find proof that it is , so I can print it off and show him that I am in fact right?
The member of staff who stopped you is an idiot and needs to re read his BBB of rules especially page 57 of the rule book
Basically any tyranid model with leaping comes under the movement rules for Beasts and Cavalry. If this idiotic staff member tries to argue, point him to page 264 right at the bottom of the tyranids summery it quite clearly states leaping tyranid warriors or gaunts count as beasts. so Yaaaaay we have mucho fast Warriors!!!!!!
Army of the heavens, my army waits in hell
To battle on the earth, for all the souls who fell
Hades is right. I knew that was the case, I just ddn't know the page number where it said that. Cheers Hades (Y)
A bit random, but what upgrades do you give to your warriors? I have cakeloads and no clue what to do with all of them.
If you give them rending claws, talons, leaping, toxin sacs, initiative glands, extendeded carapace, flesh hooks and implant attack they are awesomein close combat and getting to close combat. These warriors in large numbers can do alot of damage, especilly if they are backed up by some genestealers. And thank you for the page referance, stupid gw staff who think they know the rulebook by heart... they tell ME to read the codex more thoroughly...
I wouldn't suggest taking ImpAtt on the Warriors... I rarely face enough multwounder opponents to make it worthwhile, and thus only Tyrants are given IA since mine tend to face multiwounders more often than not.
Note that the table for "Existing Unit Types" is on different pages, depending on the rulebook used:
Battle For Macragge (BFM), page 87
Big Grey Book (BG, page 264
Leaping Warriors are defined as "Beasts", and thus gain Fleet. There are no official clarifications on this issue... Thus we must assume that yes indeed, Warriors are Beasts and thus Fleet.
The staffmember fouled up... Wouldn't be the first time I'd've caught a redshirt not knowing the rules of the game.
"The meat things seek to destroy ourselves. They hunt us as we hunt them but they are weak and uncertain. The inferior flesh will be entirely destroyed, all biomatter consumed. Ourselves will fight to the last, all weak flesh must be devoured."
I'd say being in both rulebooks was pretty final clarification... It does say pretty specifically 'leaping tyranid warriors or gaunts'Leaping Warriors are defined as "Beasts", and thus gain Fleet. There are no official clarifications on this issue... Thus we must assume that yes indeed, Warriors are Beasts and thus Fleet.
Depending on what army you face, imp.att is rarely useful. Fortunately many players in my store have thousand sons. So all of my 'stealers have implant attacks Arent I nice?
My warriors are normally in broods the sise of 9 and I try hard to attck larger multiwound creatures with them. And since they have rending claws if i roll a 6 thats automatically 2 wounds off!
NINE????? :o Jesus! My warriors are normally in broods the sise of 9 and I try hard to attck larger multiwound creatures with them. And since they have rending claws if i roll a 6 thats automatically 2 wounds off!
How many point games do you play? I can get by with 5 in 1500
well it depends what point game obviously. I only use broods of 9 in 2500 + but I love warriors. They are great. Stuff raveners, chuck a few leaping warriors in your army!
everyone loves warriors. I refused to sell the ones i had lying around to someone because he told me they got fleet as he was digging in his wallet. He sometimes visits this site. Stick to Thousand sons, fool. You know who you are. lol .
I dont think ive every seen a ravener in real life, not even at conflict london.
