You can't hide behind anything in 4th ed. rules unless it is a vehicle or monstrous creature, so the answer would be no you can't hide behind them. I don't think you could hide behind them in 3rd ed. either because they counted as small targets.

You can't HIDE behind them, but there is still a chance that because of them the enemy can't shoot your units behind them, so yes and no. Its not likely they won't be able to not shoot behind them, but it could happen. Look in the 4th ed rule book for the reason. We aren't allowed to tell you on this forum.

yup, they will have to take a ld test if you are closer with the scarabs. THeres always that chance that they can't fire at your back line.

I thought it was against the rules to directly give someone rules from the codex's or bbb... Was I wrong in that thought?

Yes you were. TOS is limited to reproducing stats and costs.

Keep in mind copyright keeps you from reproducing pages of official books at a time. But you can post little snippets of it for proof or comparison but keep this to under a few paragraphs... And keep in mind to not include stats and costs!

Generally, we will refuse to answer a direct question that is clearly stated, such as "Do destroyers count as Necron units?" This is not because of copyright laws but because we need to teach the noobs independance and the benefit of actually taking a quick glance to affirm questions. But, then again, it can't hurt either way
Necron will stand for eternity.Their race has survived aeons by trading their very souls for metal bodies. Now, they will live on through eternity and will vanquish all life from our universe. For they are Necron. Flesh is weak. The machine will rise!

Also, rather than state the rule, it should prove much more beneficial to just provide the source for people to find it... It doesn't help much if "A guy said so on the net", but if You can actually find it in the rulebook, all the better!

    4thEd page 19, "Choose A Target - Target Priority".

4thEd page 20, "Check Line Of Sight & Range - Line Of Sight".

    Are we learning yet? (Y)

This way we can avoid posting all but the bare minimum of rules required to clarify potential rule disputes and unclear rule wording.
"The meat things seek to destroy ourselves. They hunt us as we hunt them but they are weak and uncertain. The inferior flesh will be entirely destroyed, all biomatter consumed. Ourselves will fight to the last, all weak flesh must be devoured."

yeah, I'm just too lazy to look up the page number, since I already know the rule.

    Thanks!
