Basically, I haven't played Warhammer in a year or two and I'm trying to get back into it. I rediscovered my Dark Eldar army and found I had the following models:

HQ-
Dark Eldar Lord x 2 (I don't think I ever used these...)
Dark Eldar Lord on Jetbike
Incubi x 5 one with blaster (Don't think I've ever used these guys either)

Elite-
Succubus x 2
Wyches x 8 one with wych weapon thing

Troops-
Sybarites x 2
Warriors x 24 six with dark lances

Fast Attack-
Reaver Jetbikes x 3
Hellion x 1 (... *shrug*)

Heavy Weapons-
Scourges x 2 (dunno why I only have two...)

Other-
Raider x 2

Any suggestions of what I should take or what I should buy? Also, I only have the original codex (I ordered the new codex a couple days ago, so it should be here soon), so suggestions on what wargear to use is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

well the newer codex will no doubt be a big help. I'd like to recommend a big box or two of warriors, and maybe another couple wyches. the battleforce isn't that bad and another couple of reavers would be quite helpful for your reaver lord. A ravager is never a bad idea and the talos is a slow but cool choice.

Get more warriors (another box), equip 2 with splinter cannons, and the rest with rifles. get mor scourges, 2 more reavers with blasters, ravager with 3 disintigrators and possibly more wychs. combine this with what you have now and you should be able to make 1500 points. Also in the way of wargear, i suggest agonisers on all your squad leaders, and on you lord. Also on your lord, put a shadow field, combat drugs. Hope this helps.

IMHO, unless you go over 2K points you'll only need one Lord in an army.* If you want to use the Incubi use the one on a bike as a Sybarite for the bike squad.* Replace the Blaster Incubus.* These guys are for one thing only HtH.* You don't want to loose those PW attacks.

A lord on a bike can work but will need some support.* That SF is bound to fail if you run her around alone.* *

Elite-
Succubus x 2
Wyches x 8 one with wych weapon thing

Replace one Succubi and get another wyche to get this squad to 10.

Troops-
Sybarites x 2
Warriors x 24 six with dark lances

You need more.* In Raider Squads a SC and Blaster is a must.*

Fast Attack-
Reaver Jetbikes x 3

If this was a squad box, cut the Shredder blades off and make this a squad with two Blasters.* Use the Lord as a Succubus and give her an agonizer and Haywire Grenades.* Otherwise you'll need more to make this an effective squad.

Hellion x 1 (... *shrug*)

Personally, I'd introduce him to a garbage can.* I have never been able to make Hellions work for me in a regular DE force.* Others here swear by them.* That said I am going to try my Hellions in the Wyche cult I'm building.* You could take the Blaster from the Incubus and put it on him.* A fairly easy conversion.* But you'll still need more for a minimus squad.

Heavy Weapons-
Scourges x 2 (dunno why I only have two...)

As said in another reply get more and give them SC.* Just remember that Scourges are twice as expensive, points wise, as regular warriors.

Other-
Raider x 2

These go to the Wyches and Hqs.*

Any suggestions of what I should take or what I should buy?* Also, I only have the original codex (I ordered the new codex a couple days ago, so it should be here soon), so suggestions on what wargear to use is greatly appreciated.* Thanks in advance!

RAIDERS, RAIDERS, RAIDERS.* Oh and more Raiders.* But that is just my style of play.* With the exception of one DL squad, everyone I have rides.* My HQS, and 1/2 of my warrior squad Raiders have DLs.* My Wyche and the others have disintegrators.*

I am a big fan of Haemonculi with Destructors.* I always take two and put them in the Disintegrator Raider Squads.*

Ravagers.* I personnally go DL or Disintegrator pure on both of mine.* Give em night shields.*

Agonizers on all Succubi and Sybarites.*

Just a few thoughts.* Without knowing how many points you want to get to, it's hard to get real specific.

Well, check some of the army lists out there, and there is a post about getting DE on the cheap by means of converting etc.

Both highly reccomended, otherwise you got a good start there mate.

As far as converting what i would do is bits order some incubi blaster's (just the weapon, not the entire model) Probably about 5-6 of them, probably be relatively cheap, like under $5 in total. Then take a file and grind down the hand. They look kinda like this:

--------------------------
| ****************\
-------*************|
*****|***********/
*****|----VVVVVV---/

With the V's being the hand you want to file down. And the yellow stars just being place holders. Then on the warrior sprues there are those really dull looking rifles with no spikes or blades on them at all. Just cut the rifle off and then your newly modified blasters will fit nicely onto them.

Voila cheap blaster units, and they look much cooler than the actual models which you pay too much money for. I will post some pics later today.

Get warriors loads of them!. There cheap they cant even deflect one bullet but they own with there stats for just 8 pts and the upgrades you can take ^^. Also raiders or a TALOS nice thingies those talos able to ripp apart whole flanks with ease when used properly.

That's a great starting list and is very similar to my 1000-1500 pt list:

Dracon w. Agonizer, Combat Drugs, Shadow Field+4Incubi+4warriors (2xSplinter Cannon) in a Raider
Succubus w. Agonizer +8Wytches w. Wytch Weapons in a Raider
Sybarite w. Agonizer+15 Troops (2xSplinter Cannon 2xBlaster)
10Troops (2xDark Lance)
Ravager w. 3xDissintegrators

I would recommend buying more Warriors and a Ravager. Also, I try to have enough special weapons to field any configuration (I have 4 blasters, 2 shredders, 6 splinter cannons and 4 dark lances).

4 Darklances aint that much imo ou should have at least 6. I still need to buy new warriors and DL's but atm im converting every warrior so it takees alot longer to get them ''ready for batlle''

Ravagers. Get at least 2 of them.

Use the Scourges if they are your thing, they are useful but more so with splinter cannons than dark lances (loses mobility).

You can either go with footsquads for DL sniping, or get several more Raiders for a Raider DE army. Or a mix n match, which also works quite well.

Wyches - use the Succubus, and 9 others. ALWAYS give the Succubus an agoniser, trust me on this.

You WILL NEED TO PUT the wyches into a Raider. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT use them on foot. 6+ armor is NOT GOOD.

A Talos might be useful, but again it is mostly personal taste that dictates how your DE army functions.

NO unit, I shall repeat NO unit in a DE army is useless. Some are used less frequently than others because they are HARDER to use, just as how DE are harder to play than Marines (therefore, less DE players. Same analogy with DE units).

Peace.
