ok i have a necron freind who seems to be obsessed with nightbringers ( the 300 point monster) and for some reason no matter what i do it doesent die.
also with his worriors do they all get the well be back rule.
everytime i kill one he just rolls a dice and on a 4+ well you know
(as you have probably noticed i dont have a clue about necrons)
this probably sounds like a real noob question.
technically I don't think you actually asked a question  , but don't stress I caught your drift. About how many points fo you play usually? Post your army list and we can all help you better. Other than that all I can say are shoot the C'Tan with your railguns and hope it dies, but in truth you don't really need to concentrate on it. If you bring him down to 25% necron units he'll auto phase out, so basically keep killing his warriors, also unless there is a res orb within 6" they can't get back up if the blow that knocked them down is x2 their toughness.
Plasma rifles and fusion blasters are good against necrons, but really what you want is that good-old massed pulse rifle fire--especially against the Nightbringer. He's got that nasty 4+ invulnerable save, which makes it risky to put any of your powerful guns at him, so why bother? Your small arms need sixes to wound him, but that means that a 12 man firewarrior squad at 30 inches is actually far more likely to hurt him than a hammerhead. Remember this, as well. Your 12 pulse rifles will most likely only drop one necron permanently. Your rail gun will also drop one necron permanently. Train the rifles on the nightbringer and the heavy guns on the little guys, at least till the nightbringer is dead.
well what i have learned is that statistics not match with warhammer.
example today i played my TAU vs Eldar ulthwe ^^ and my stealth suits were assome! they took down a Wraithlord and 4 wound on the seer consil.
i think that if he brings nightbringer then he will be short on models. and that means that you only need to kill even less to phase him out. if he is bringing a Monolith he is doomed.
