Welcome to Librarium Online!
Want toi start my own bug army, to be more specific a Seeding Swarm love the idea of Nids falling out of the sky on some hopeless soon to be biomatter. Quick question I was thinking about using genestealers as my Furious choice and Hormaguants as my as the other (cant remeber the name off the top of my head). If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it.
Stick with Chaos until May, when the new Tyranids are released. No point in building an army You can play with for a whole two months!
If the Seeding Swarm rules are still valid with the 4thEd Codex, then read on! (Y)
Remember that Seeding Swarms only work properly in very specific missions! Thus unless You use the rules for choosing a mission as detailed in the Seeding Swarm rules, or otherwise agree to play the specific type of mission that allows SS to do their thing, Your swarm is heavily limited and some choices (like Fer) are downright suicidal.
All my suggestions assume that the specific mission type is succesfully chosen and You get the full benefit of the SS rules.
Personally, I'd take shooty Gaunts in Seeding Swarms... Quite simply because they can at least do something on the turn they arrive, while CC Gaunts sit around doing nothing except getting shot.
My favourite is the Toxinspinegaunt (Gaunt + ToxSac + SFist), since it's pretty effective while remaining comparatively cheap. One or two creatures in the brood get the new Strangleweb bio-weapon as a Weaponbeast Mutation (after the mandatory Hive Node Mutant) to ensure added effectiveness.
And if this brood is WON... As soon as the enemy shoots and kills them, the Gaunts come back and shoot again!
For the Carnifex, ScyT + Devourer or 2x Devourer is a good choice, since in a SS the range isn't that much of a handicap, while the short-range firepower is absolutely devastating!
The Tyrant should do fine with its usual 2x ScyTal + WBlast, and will be a bit cheaper than usual since it doesn't need Wings. Just don't forget FlsHks! Tyrant Guard can also be handy to keep it alive for the turn after it DSes in.
"The meat things seek to destroy ourselves. They hunt us as we hunt them but they are weak and uncertain. The inferior flesh will be entirely destroyed, all biomatter consumed. Ourselves will fight to the last, all weak flesh must be devoured."
Thanks for all the info Uzi-99 I was planning on holding off till the new models come out (they look sweet IMHO) I look forward to starting this army ASAP, but good call on the Toxicspineguant.
