You're best strategy is probably blasting him from a distance. This usually involves blasting the Aspiring Champions from a distance as well.

Every Gauss gun in the Necron army will be able to wound the demons on a 6 at least (as per their special rule in the front of the Necron Codex). Force it to roll enough saves and it will fail some of them. I can't remember if demons have a normal armor save and an invulnerable, or just invulnerable. Heavy Destroyers will guarantee the demon will be making only Inv saves.

If you're feeling ballsy, a Destroyer Lord with the Phase Shifter and a Warscythe teamed up with a unit of Wraiths will definetly hold up the demon and possible kill it, as any wounds delt by the Lord with the scythe are unsavable. I wouldn't suggest this tactic unless it was a friendly game, since odds are it won't work out too well.

Or bring the Nightbringer. Let those two slap at each other for a while.

Justin is correct, your NB should be able to handle both easily, maybe even at the same time

Mass of fire is the solution. If they make enough armor save they will die.

And another very important think .. use your lith and thw Veil od drakness so you can teleport your units out of close combat and them shoot the chaos beats again.... yes move and shoot, move and shoot. People could say necron are slow but when they can get into rapidfire range, thwy will be unstopable with their teleport abilites.

ThatĀ“s my usual tactic and it works with many armies

I'm guessing you've never faced a DP w/Berserker Glaive and Feel no pain, daemonic resilience, and whatever gives them an extra wound.

It takes *alot* of shooting to handle this guy. Statistically it would take 230 gauss flayer shots to take down a FNP daemon prince w/4 wounds.

The DP & Bloodthirster combo should only be played in a 2000+ game, otherwise I would consider that mega cheese, and then proceed to whip out my nightbringer, and 6 heavy-destroyers.

BTW, anyone playing that tooled up DP isn't playing a take-all comers list. That DP will get smashed by a single rail-gun or vindicator, or orbital bombardment hit. He only counts for t5 when it comes to instakill. So the nightbringer will take him out in 1 hit. 5 attacks, 3's and 2's, dead. Now move onto the bloodthirster.

Also be sure to know that the DP with berserker glaive can no longer use special movement modes. So all he gets is 6 +D6 blood rage and 6 assault. This was corrected in the Third Printing of the Chaos codex.

Good points guys. But may i be the first to welcome our foreign visitor. Either that or you can't type!!

Personally i'd take 6 heavy destroyers. Also a few scarabs, 2 units, and try and tie them up for a bit.

Heavy Ds are of the devil, if you feel the need to take HDs ge some regular ones instead. They really have no purpose....

Your Ds will on average kill more than a HD anyday, against and foe.
