Welcome to Librarium Online!
This may sound a bit strange but here goes anyways.
1. How exactly is the new codex going to change how the 'nids are going to be played?
2. I read alot about the new "themed armies" this whole theory makes no sense to me can someone shed any light onit at all?
3. I dont play as much as I would like and when I do play I tend to spend most of my time explaining rules that I barely understsand to two other retards whos only interest is ordinance weaponry and long range ballistics. Is the nex codex going to be any clearer on the already foggy special rules for tyranids?
I guess I will stop there before I make myself look any more like the complete and utter newbie that I am.
Problem is, we have absolutely no way of knowing exactly how GW is planning to potentially change Tyranids, besides the brief and vague glimpse in WD 303 which has already been commented upon (and You've probably read).
Everything else is even more clearly just rumours.
And why didn't You simply add this to the end of the WD303 article discussion? ^_^
Probably the biggest change the new Codex will entail would be the effectiveness increase of the "medium" creatures (warriors, Raveners, Lictors, etc). How? All we know is that it relates to Synapse and immunity to Instant Death.
As for the themes mentioned in the article, they were unfortunately rather vague... Or perhaps I'm just too tired to think clearly. Z_z
Anyway, the article isn't clear whether or not the "themes" work similarly to the doctrines/traits of IG/SM armies. We simply can not know.
And again, it's utterly impossible to know what sort of fragups GW has managed to do with the wording... Maybe we'll get a nice, perfectly understandable Codex for a change. Knowing GW, I wouldn't bet on that, and as such You can be sure we'll have our fair share of confusing rules.
This is one of the inherent hitches of Warhammer... It seems GW doesn't bother to pay for technical writers to go over and crosscheck their stuff to straighten out inconsistencies, errors, typos and general mistakes.
We'll just have to wait until May-Jun to find out, unless You happen to have a time-machine handy?
