Welcome to Librarium Online!
I recently started collecting orks (bad Moons), and I'm wondering what you all thing of my konversions / colour scheme
Heres the pics:
(you can zoom in by clicking I think...)
These are of my Battlewagon, konverted from a 2nd hand crusader, its not painted, as I need to stick the grots on, and get the rokkits. Note the hand made glyphs, they took ages...
Rear view, including number plate and Grot rigger access platform
I'll get the rest up later, but I need to figure out how to delete files on my (not strictly mine) camera...
Coming will be my Warboss, Grabnutz, and Big Mek, SkrooLoose, and a few orks showing my kolour skeme.
Nice work, (Y) you will have to post more pics when you have it painted!
Jobs a good 'un but it needs more rivets!
ffej, other places are having a bad influence on you . On me as well, great job Burriss, but I second ffej, more rivets, you can never have enough rivets.
Great to see another bad moon around.
The land raider model has quite the few rivets already, are you sure more wil work?
That, and how in gawd's name do you do rivets...
Ta for the feedback, I should be able to get the other pics tommorow maybe
A lot of people make their rivets by using plasticard and a leather hole punch. THey may be a bit big unless you find a tiny one. They can usually be found with mutliple sizes on each puncher
Others take a tube of plastic rod and cut off slin slices with a knife
I have heard of someone using "t-shirt goo", the stuff used on tshirts to give them texture. Just put a dab on and let it dry.
And a fourth way would be to buy tiny rivets usualy used in model railroad constructions. I know for a fact that Grandt Line Products sells plastic rivets.
as soon as the forum at the-waaagh.com comes back online i will give you a link to a huge descusion about rivets.
EDIT: Oh yah, make sure to paint it up nice and propa
Found the sectio nthat lists the rivets for grandt line. http://www.grandtline.com/model_railroad/a...ables_pages.htm
I'm pretty sure those are the ones NS uses
got the rest of the pics: (again, none of the paint is finished )
Ork Bike Nob:
Warboss Grabnutz (and Noggin, offishul lucksy Grot):
Big Mek SkrooLoose:

And finally my kolour skeme, demonstrated by these three...
Apologies for the focus on some of these, and the lighting, but oh well.
Excellent conversions, and the paint scheme is good too, Love the hand made bits on the raider how did you do it?

Nice job Burriss you are a great painter. Really like how you do your red.
That is a problem for me though, for a bad moon army your orks have too much red and no yellow. Wheres the yellow man?
As for the rivets I personally make my rivets from 0.2mm plasticard rod and IMO its looks great. I added over 250 new rivets on to my looted Russ. I will post pics tomorrow. Rivets are a great way of making things look orky. Trust me
Should have mentioned that!
Personally, I think that the yellow colour scheme shown in the codex is about as apealling as eating slurry! Anyway look at Noggin's trousers! Yellow! I've incorporated orange onto the models, mainly in the trousers (shown on the Big Mek), but other than that my kolours are nowt like Bad Moons. I'm still using the rules, and perhaps maybe the logo (though it sucks somewhat, again only in my opinion, so don't get shirty!, and theming my army around the rich ladz idea. The skarboyz have pale leather! (see the left ork in the 3 ork pic). It is a little like having Black Templars painted lurid pink, but hey, its my army!
And which hand made bits are you refering to, Pitts?
If you mean the big shootas, they were a doddle. Just extend a normal shoota, with another shoota barrel. The really hard part was switching the traks around to face the other way, and pull the gun deck forward on the model.
the white bits in the pics are just glyphs and teef shaped out of plastic from an old ice cream box! The gun sheilds are from the top bits of housing for the guns from the crusader, and the other metal bits are all mostly from the crusader too. The generator on the side is from the Zzap gun wheelz, and wire looped around, the gun itself I just stuck on where the twin assault cannon used to be.
Ta for the comments so far.
I'll be sure to get more pics up when the paint is finished.
