Welcome to Librarium Online!
Anybody ever tried exceptional sized Hive Tyrants?
That toughness increase doubles the protection against S5 hits, while providing 1.5 times protection against S6, not to mention the 1.33 against S7 and the 1.25 against S8. (Or these S values are copyrighted? Then how to speak about them...)
This way the Tyrant shrugs off Pulse Rifle and Heavy Bolter fire, while it still helps against Plasma, Star Cannon, Power Fists, Melta, Fusion, Bright Lance and Krak.
Sadly not against the damned Lascannon, Railgun, Heavy Gauss, or the cheesy Particle Whip.
Well, at least it makes the löl Lasguns completely useless, Tyrant-wise.
Offensively in helps against T5-8, but i dont want to mention the characters with such toughness. The doubled effectiveness against T8 might be worth mentioning.
All these for 49 extra points and limiting the number of species to 4.
Hmm, modeling it by green stuff all over the place?
Btw, if these S-numbers are offending GW, then delete my post.
I thought about it for a HT with dual VCs that way it gets to have 9 strength attacks, and 7 toughness. But never tried it.
"God works in mysterious ways."
"Everything happens for a reason."
I actually have a slug living in YOU, right now...
Slowly will start playing: Iyanden, and Chaos.
with the standard kit out (AGI AGWS EC ES TS wings 2xVC) i can give it ExSize... and pay 317 points for 6 strength 9 ap 4 shots... with a 2+ save... hitting on a 3+ on average 4 hit, 3 wound.
very expensive, and would never do it except in an hq on hq battle...
If you were to do this the point cost would be huge not to meantion that you would only be able to have only 4 species. <_<
You call those cheap implants boobs?
They aren't boobs, they're lies!
use this mutant hive tyrant versus tau in close combat, tau strenght 3 versus hive tyrant toughness 7
BEST ARMY APPEARANCE AND OVERALL WINNER OF A LOCAL GW RTT (29-7-06) GODZILLA/CHOIR 2K ARMY LIST
I imagine the best place might actually be imperial guard T7 + Extended Carapace.... your immune to their basic weapon , get a +2sv against their pie plates (Demolisher not included) and against many typical 'anti-tyranid' heavy weapons (Heavy Bolters, Missile Launchers, Autocannon etc)
I've tried, didn't like... For me, the entire point of the swarm is to have a multitude of creatures, and not just a boatload of Gaunts but different species at that.
As such I don't like restricting my species just to have a Mutant TMC. (N)
Though I do in fact have a low-model 3-species list for Mutant Lictors! Makes the Lictors that much more lethal! (Y)
And yes, I can do this by:
Warriors for HQ
Lictors for E
Something for T
Warriors with VCannons for HS
4 different brood types, which fulfills the requirements laid out in the Codex and the FAQ while only having 3 Species, thanks to Warriors with differing bioweapons (but identical biomorphs) remaining as a single Species.
Just for personal fun, and not my actual gaming list, mind You!
"The meat things seek to destroy ourselves. They hunt us as we hunt them but they are weak and uncertain. The inferior flesh will be entirely destroyed, all biomatter consumed. Ourselves will fight to the last, all weak flesh must be devoured."
it works a lot better with a cc tyrant than a shooty tyrant
I think a great bumper sticker would be as follows:
Proud parent of a child whose self-confidence is good enough that he doesn't need me advertising his minor scholastic achievements on my carclick me
But Lictors are a genofixed species... you aren't allowed to mutate them.Originally posted by Uzi-99@Mar 14 2005, 13:34

Hey, if you're gonna not follow the codex though, a mutant Red Terror or Old One Eye would be fun...
trus uzi, he knows all. genofixed creatures can be mutated, but can not use the mutable genus rules. red terror and old one eye can not be changed at all.
if you are reading this signature, then you are wasting you're time, and i am wasting my time by writing it, so run along now, jimmy, run along.
