I have a friend who plays necron, but I have not played him yet... I was wondering if heavy destoryers and destroyers cannot be hit if they are behind say... a unit of necron warriors (he says he will be able to maintain base to base contact among his warriors) his goal in this is to be able to fire his heavy destroyers and destroyers guns at my army (Tau) while hiding them from my shots by keeping them behind his troops. Certainly, this makes sense, however, I would definantly like to get someone here saying how it would work since I want to make sure hes not trying to trick me or anything... I havent seen any of his models yet (havent had time to play him). Personally I would think the destroyers and heavy destroyers are twice the height of his warriors to stop a semi-mean tactic such as this (my broadsides arnt so lucky... ). He is probably right... just wanna check... lol
I'm fairly sure the warrior do block los to destroyers. I do that when I play my necrons at my local GW store and the staff never make a fuss about it.
as i thought... well that sux... but thx anyway...
Yes this tactic is valid as Destroyers are considered to be mounted on bikes..... bikes can be screened by foot sloggers.
