Hey guys, after reading over the Kill-team rules again, I decided to make two of those. One a standard issue IG team, but the other one I wanted to be different. But not alienatingly different. So I picked Tau, since the basics are the same (crap at CC, good at shooting stuff).

Any idea how I should combine IG parts with Tau parts? I know there's some stuff on the GW site, but I was wondering what the Tau players had to say about it.

As well, do you think I should get the Tau codex or will a simple reference sheet printout do?

Hope you all can help me! (:

The Tau codex would only be useful for the gun stats of the pulse rifle and carbine. Otherwise, the rules for the human auxilaries are on the GW website. As for conversions, I don't know too many people who actually use the auxilaries, so I haven't seen any conversions except from GW's website, sorry.

If I were to convert some humans to the tau, I rather like the Cadian storm troopers and would probably find a way to work them into the unit somehow... it's about the only way I can justify buying that box set.

Maybe you're right, but I've got some Troopers and I'd say they're pretty hard to fix up with extra parts. So I think I'd rather just go with plastic cadians. Works just as well, IMHO. By the way, what box would I need for some standard Tau equipment?
I figure just a box of Fire Warriors, right?

    Pretty much, yeah.

You'd get helmets, chest armour, guns, shoulder pads, packs, etc.

Eh, some of the ones on the GW site looked horrible - especially the ones made with Catachan parts. Yeugh.

The new website layout on here is interesting...hard to get used to.

At least, it looks new on my computer. o.O Funky.

Anyways, a Gue'vesa Kill Team wouldn't fair too well, I'm afraid. Less options than IG, same statline. :glare:

That's why we're going to deepfry.
Oh, sorry... Couldn't resist quoting red vs blue.

Anyway, it's not going to be IG only. It's also gonna contain Tau and Kroots, at least, when I can get a hold of some models cheaply. Suggestions for which models?

kill teams have got to be part of the same squad... or at least legal ones. i would have to agree with Lost Nemesis, Gue'vesa Kill Team may die very easily. Kroot ones can look quite good though.
The avatar is the emperor as a pimp. Well, i like it.

If I'm not mistaking, you can add other squads, but in return, the Brute player gets more upgrades. That's the way it works, I think.

You are correct. You can take from any army list entry in the appropriate codex, but anytime you do the Brute player gets more Brute squads and more points for upgrades.

Honestly, Tau are very lacking in the Kill-Team department. They really are not suited for it at all.
