    so far i have a basic low level eldar army, i was planning on playing biel tan, but decided to switch to ulthwe. any tips on what i should buy immediately to make my army a pretty decent and fieldable force?

    so far:
    1 farseer (ill have to add more, probably get the 5 man seer squad)
    3 warlocks

    16 defender guardians
    2 support weapons platforms
    4 rangers

    7 howling banshees
    5 striking scorpions
    7 wraithguard

    1 wraithlord
    1 falcon

    well yur on yur way. i had a hard time converting my vanilla eldar to ulthwe but i did it.

    what uneed to buy immediately for a decent fieldable force:
    1 or 2 farseer(s)
    another box of guardians, maybe 2
    another wraithlord


    the way i see it, ulthwearmiy is a WHOLE bunch of guardians, led by a seer coucil.(in 1500 points i have 5 guardian squads) Wraithlords are just an awesome addition to the force that is alrrady powerful, both for looks and playability.

    the way i plan to use my army is as mainly an assault force. Im thinking about having storm guardians along with defender guardians be the main assault force as i augment their powers with a mix of vypers and other aspect warriors. since the storm squads are black guardians, then they would have ws 4 and if i attach a warlock, i could enhacne their powers to ws 5 +1 initiative. My friend has my codex right now, but heres an army list idea i have:

    HQ
    3 farseers
    5 warlocks

    ELITE
    10 howling banshee squad
    10 striking scorpion squad
    ??? another elite choice?

    TROOPS
    Guardian Defender Squad
    -warlock
    -18 defender guardians
    -support weapons platform (no designated weapon so i can mix and match
    according to army)

    Guardian Defender Squad
    -warlock
    -18 defender guardians
    -support weapons platform (no designated weapon so i can mix and match
    according to army)

    Guardian Storm Squad
    -warlock
    -16 storm guardians

    Guardian Storm Squad
    -warlock
    -16 storm guardians

    Ranger Squad
    -15 Rangers


    FAST ATTACK
    3 Vypers(also with interchangeable main weapons)
    10 Guardian JetBikes
    -plus 1 warlock on jetbike


    HEAVY SUPPORT
    1 wraithlord
    1 falcon
    ??? im not sure about this one, a wraithlord would be good, but i want more firepower to bear down upon the enemy


    ---plan---
    the idea would be to have a line of defender guardians and behind them, storm guardians.

    rangers would take place behind sum defensive emplacement

    elites would support any weaknesses i see in the ranks

    heavy support would provide firepower throughout the lines

    fast attack vypers take up firing positions

    fast attack jetbikes used to attack weak flanks

    id use the hq farseers to mind war any special units on the board that must be dealt with

    wraithlord will cc any large and nasty units on the field


    the guardians slowly move up firing their catapults
    by the time enemy fire withers away the defender guardians, my storm guardians would be close enough for cc
    elite units would support
    and clean up the remaing units

    probably wont field this whole army in the battle, but i could change my plan according to army

    actually i like this idea alot. move the storm guardinans up, then fleet with them, back em up each with a guardian squad. dood thats a great idea.

    i would get rid of the guardian jetbikes. they arent owrth the points. vypers are but use the points that u gain when u get rid of the guardian bikes and put CTM(targeting matrixes) on the vypers.

    u dont need another elite choice. get a wave serpent for the scorpiosn tho cuz they cant fleet. but banshees can

    give the seer coucil all witchblaed and throw on enhance on a warlock. give the farseers fortune and mind war. cast fortune on themselves to get re rollable 4+ inv saves. its nasty. plus with enhance they are I and WS 6 and warlocks areI and WS 5.

    rangers can have only 10 in a squad,

    why a falcon? are u transporting anybody? i would go with the cheaper fire prism. i had the same problem. i choose the falcon but it was a waste cuz i didnt carry anybody. the fire prism is str 9 ap 1 blast. its really good. i used it today with a CTM and took out 3 ork buggies,(in one shot) couple marine bikes, half a marine squad, and some other stuff.

    as for the unsurity of the 3rd heavy suopport, u dont need ot take it. btw hwo many points are u lookin to field witht his? it loks to me about 2500?

    this is wut happens wen u dont have ur codex, lol

    well this is gonna be my army, and my friends and i play large scale battles as in 2000 pts or more every 2 months or so. otherwise, id mix and match with the units i have to field a fighting force

    That&#39;s up to you. Personally, I like the way the Strike Force works, but check out the rules and see for yourself..
    btw, if you didin&#39;t already know it, you must take a seer council if you play UlthwƩ. It&#39;s a 1 per army choice and replaces the farseer entry
