Im thinking the battle-force box, But I dont really want any Kroot yet, I would also need the codex, so....... Im think getting a Battle-force, see if anyone needs any kroot, so I could trade them for some usefull Fire warriors.

    Would that be Pretty good?

Battleforce is the best way to start a Tau army, BUY ONE!!

    Then.......

First 1 more Crisis is a must as a Shas'o (have him join the Crisis team)

Second get 1-2 more boxes of Firewarriors.
    Third at least 1-2 Broadsides.

After that it depends on your foe.....
maybe a Hammerhead or Stealth or more Crisis.

    Hope that helps......

Yeah, that helped plas out my choices for when I get more money.

Basicly, Im a little Tight on money.

    Im thinking this.

Get battleforce and Codex. Get another Squad of Fire warriors. Get another Crisis suit for a Shas'o. Get More Fire warrior, then A Broadside, then a Transport, (Devil fish?), Some Pathfinders, then I dont know what ill plan on next. But my main concern is getting 24 Fire warriors first.

I do agree on getting some more firewarriors. I don't know about broadsides being your next investment after that. I think the hammerhead is a great investment. But there is a conflict. The only safe immediate investment you can make is crisis suits. They can play any role in your army except cc.

just wondering, i dont play tau myself, but what would a tau player actually use a transport for? most other armies use transports to get CC heavy units into CC faster.. but tau seem to suck all round at CC... just wondering what you Tau players use a transport for?

I think Pathfinders Must start out in a transport, Like a Armored fist Squad for the IG.

Pathfinders don't have to start in a transport, but they must take one.

Also, the tau fluff suggests that the tau should be good for hit and run tactics, using their transports to setup troops to engage, than withdraw before the enemy closes with them. That's the theoretical for the the transport, but there isn't always as much use for that on a small table.

The tau definetely don't use transports for fire support. The devilfish is really expensive and not very well armed, and we can't carry around the equivalent of devastator squads in our transports. Though the new railrifles for the pathfinders are close.

Just play a couple of games with what you have and at the end of the game work out what it would have been useful to have.
eg. vs tank heavy: broadsides, crisis suits deepstriking with twin-linked fusion blasters.
vs. Space Marines: Ion Cannon, crisis suits with plasma rifles
You cannot win, for to fight us is to give us power.
