How do you use the hive node? are there any confirmed rules for it..?
Also, any ideas for infestation markers...
I wonder if hey will be included in the new codex.
They will not be in the new codex. In fact, every GW employee ive met who knows something about the new codex has made clear the abuse of hive nodes was one of the reasons the mutant and make your own hive fleet rules will be completely redone and gotten rid of for set unit options.
Slight confusion... There are two different things labeled by GW as "Hive Nodes".
The Tyranid terrain as presented in the BFM starter box... We don't have a clue as to whether or not they will include general rules for using these in the 4thEd Codex.
As for the 3rdEd Tyranid Codex Hive Node Mutants... Mutants have been removed, not due to abuses of Hive Node, but due to Weaponbeast abuse and the fact that most people didn't find them very clear.
"The meat things seek to destroy ourselves. They hunt us as we hunt them but they are weak and uncertain. The inferior flesh will be entirely destroyed, all biomatter consumed. Ourselves will fight to the last, all weak flesh must be devoured."
why is hive node "abused" offcorse you want ld 10 gaunts when they elap from the synapse etc.
but i hope there will be a simular upgrade so my warrior head gaunt dont get picked on!
That kind of....uh....sucks!!! No more weapon mutants? They better cover this up real good with new rules! And no more hive node? The only substitute for this would either be giving gaunts Ld 7/8, having a brood brother (can't wait) or having the synapse range going 24 - 36"!
"If a ninja does anything anywhere it won't make a sound, but if it does it's probably gonna be the last sound you hear."
Or having winged warriors. Oh BTW, something a GW employee told me last week: in the new codex, when a unit is affected by Instinctive Behavior you no longer roll to see what they do; you get to pick either Lurk or Fall Back (which now falls back toward the nearest Synapse creature rather than a table edge). But "Attack!" is no longer a possible instinctive behavior.
"or having the synapse range going 24 - 36"!"
You can't be serious with this. This would be completely broken and wrong. That's like saying they should get rid of instinctive behavior and make all tyranids fearless. With 24-36" synapse range you would never be outside synapse range unless you are stupid. Plus with the no insta-splat rules, your synapse shouldn't be dying much.
<-- that room over there in my avatar is full of people who think you are funny...BURN...

The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
Yeah I think your talking about the BROOD LORD Fast and Deadly and how would it change anything about synapse????????
