I finally have the time to convert myself a nice little kill team, and I planned to base it on rangers and pathfinders, because that seems the most fluffy to me. However, the ranger long-rifles have the "heavy" descriptor. Does that mean that an all-ranger team would be violating a major rule by using more than one heavy weapon in the team...?
not to be mean, but there was already several threads discussing this.
Yes, you'd be breaking several rules.
You may have only one heavy weapon, and one template per team.
Thus the example of an all pathfinder, or all ranger army (line 1 rules for kill team rules) would be breaking rule three multiple times.
You could play an all ranger army but you'd be giving your opponent an extra 14 brute squads and 140 points or more for their boss.
Even the kill team example they showed broke the rules w/ 2 pathfinders.
But you can break the rules and play, just giving a huge advantage to your opp.
Good luck w/ the kill team.
Personally and strategically I choose fire dragons for kill teams because they utterly destroy anything they get into range with while staying on the move. Plus the models look BAD-@$$.
This should have been in the RULES forum as it was a rules query. Eitherway the question has been answered. Closed
