    Dire Avengers

Make of this what you will but one of the regular staff members at my local games woprkshop has seen some of the new rules for the new eldar codex and apparently Dire Avenegrs are going to be able to go toe to toe with marines in a fire fight and win with ease under the new rules so either the stats for them are being changed ot the stats for the shurikan catapult are being increased. Either way they will probably cost a lot more points wise. He said the y were going to become very heavy close range support.

In short thet are being transformed from slightly better guardians into a proper aspect in thier own right

Like I said make of this what you will

sorry but i'm finding it hard to believe you. don't trust what GW staff say, especially when its stuff like that. how much of the codex will even be finished by now? they probably are just barely into in the really early playtesting stage if anything now as the codex is expected around easter (there's still a black templars codex to be released before the new eldar one)

I agree. Be wary of the GW kids who are payed to man the registers. They hear rumors from GW just like we do. Not to mention the Eldar codex is not planned for release until end of "05" or first half of "06" It's too early to listen to new rules. Even if it were true, there is a good chance the rules will change during play testing (or what little GW does)

I so want to believe that the avengers will find a solid place in the army *fingers crossed*. Going toe-to-toe with marines in a firefight isn't that tough. I hope they don't change any (except the Avatar and farseer) of the eldar models, I'd hate to have to paint a bunch of new models. I like the models the way they are. But I wouln't hold true to what they say though, they probly only know as much as the rest of us (zip, zero).

I have a feeling that Dire Avengers will be very cheesy with the new codex... just a notion, but still. I hope they don't screw it up. It would be cool with rending shuricats of course.

so either the stats for them are being changed ot the stats for the shurikan catapult are being increased
Both of the above are unlikely is they are to become "heavy close fire support".

If they upgrade the Shuriken Catapult to fit this desciption, then Guardians will also become a lot better. I doubt Shuriken Catapults will become Rending, but perhaps the Dire Avengers will get it, and/or Shuriken Cannons.

If the Dire Avenger's become a lot better themselves, ie: stats-wise, then all the other Aspects will get better, because incase you didn't notice ALL Aspect Warriors have the same Stat-line, and all Exarchs share the same stat-line. The only exception to that is Striking Scorpions. The only things that changes between Aspect Warriors are Equipment. If Dire Avengers get really heavy equipment to beef them up to "heavy close fire support" then i doubt they will remain troops, which goes against the fluff.
