I have two crisis suits that I need to configure into my army. I already have one Shas'o, and I'm not sure what to do with the other two suits. I can either make them Sunforge or Death Rain Monats, use them as bodyguards, OR make a crisis team with them.....
Just use magnetic mounts and built them for who you are going to face. I wouldn't personally do a team of only 2 suits, so I would either make them bodyguards or two monat tank-killing suits.
Record as of 26 December for my Static Tau Cadre.
10 wins, 0 losses, and 1 draw.
Last game: Victory over Necron in a 600 point "kill em all" that lasted til turn 10 ending with a phase out.
Yes use magnetic mounts or use blu tac or sumthing to hold the weapons for a temporary amount of time.Originally Posted by The CelestialY not? 2 crisis suits is fine. I have 2 teams of 2 in my army and they work very well.Originally Posted by The Celestial
Dont do bodyguards! They take away the independant character status from your shas' o.
This is LegacyTemplar
I just cant sign in anymore...
I'm planning on a two man team. What configurations would be good against marines?
Well, it depends if you are expecting terminators or vehicles as well as infantry. I think the popular combination of plasma missile multi deserves to be popular, and would be what I'd recommend. However there are many other combinations, all effective at different units. A plasma burst hardwiredmulti (twinlink one of the weapons) works very well against space marines, but is obviously lacking against high toughness and armour. A twinlinked missile is a nice suit for what the above suit can't take care of. Sometimes i take a twinlinked missile fusion hardwiredmulti specifically for medium/heavy vehicles and high toughness units. But I think plasma, missile, multi is the way to go.
I reckon a good marine killer is plasma and burst cannon with multi tracker, espescially at 12". Yopu acan get alot of shots off, with most 3 to wound. Just get em to make loads saves!!! (and the plasma is good for melting their faces). Infact i reckon that that config is good against anyone.Originally Posted by psteve

I always use plasma / fusion / HW multi and shield gens for al my suits, why bacause thye kill what they hit be it infantry, termies, kans, dreads, warriors, high tghnes characters, armour, tanks what ever. They kick ass.
Balane is the key to a TAU army what ever your using in the rest of your tau list tailor the xv8's to support and enhnce the list. xv8's are only a part of the list think of them as apart of the whole. by the way xv8 teams dont work
Eh, my little brother seems to use plasma/missle pod combo a lot.
... only triumph could turn pooing his pants into a good thing..
