What do you think would be the tau's worst enemy, or what army would pose the greatest threat to a tau army?
Tou8ghest enemy? Hmmm. I think that Orks, Dark Elsar, and Tyranids seem easier, so the opposite would be tougher. Space Marines, Daemonhunters, and Necrons are harder, at least I think so.
I'd say Necrons, by far. The best way through We'll Be Back (WB is to have power weapons, something we don't exactly have a lot of. O'Shovah and Aun'Shi are the only ones. The only thing we can do is pray they fail WBB.
Sure fusion blasters and rail guns punch through it, but neither are very cost-effective for killing Necrons.
I'd also have to say a close combat-based Alpha Legion list could give us some trouble.
Everyone's entitled to their own opinion, even if it's wrong.
Well, there are way to many factors to determine who is the hardest army. There is the intelligence of the players, play styles, whether or not tactics work, unlucky events (bad dice rolls), and many other things. There are armies that are tougher with armour, special rules, etc., but that is made up for in points. There really is no hardest army, there are too many factors to determine it.

The worste enemy of the Tau: Close Combat!
There once was a Lord named Vlad,
Who's fighting skillz really were mad.
He killed and he maimed,
He spilled blood in Khorne's name.
And the fact that he's legal makes me glad
(special thanks to Uriel Zarium for the last line/touching it up)
Yeah I play Tyranids and one of my friends plays Tau and he does great against Imperial Guard, can take out the Space Marines but with tyranids anihilate the tau because they are fast and good at close combat. If you assault than some of the troops can move from 19-24 inches. that can avoid fire warriors shots if you use cover effectively and once those guys reach cc that squad is dead.Originally Posted by Soviet_Tau_Commander
i've been play'n against IG a majority of the time and i havn't won yet. it sucks i would say the IG. But on the other hand we are also ower own enemy if you want to think about it. what's better then the perfect shooter army another perfect shooter army with a good player. so we are ower own threat (Did that sound Professer'ish or was that just me.) I can also say the points and other things considered in an army like eldar are just crushed because they are just marine killers.
i would say IG are a threat if your relieing on a deep striking unit to do it's job or a bad mech tau player. not an insolt for that i too am a mech tau'ish player. ya IG bad

suzaraki, is english your first language?
The IG can be a big pain if used right. Eldar too. Both are much better attacking than being attacked, so if they plan well, you might have your legs cut out on turn one.
yep, that's right...Originally Posted by Soviet_Tau_Commander
