Welcome to Librarium Online!
I'm starting my very first army an Beil-tan army, I was wondering how Beil-tan possible would could beet the Imperial Guards, I was thinking about getting into h2h combat quickly but, The Imperial guards do have a great deal of fire power, I'm not sure they can accutually make it all the way before they are dead.
I think I'm going to use a lot of missile launchers and a lot of falcons and some striking scorpions or Banshees.
Do you have any suggestions??? how to beat an Imperial army!
Don't forget deepstriking swooping hawks with the grenade packs they can seriously mess up low armour squads and then if you were lucky you could get them into cc anyway and the exarch could mess up some more guards, maybe a farseer with eldritch(sp?) storm too, I just think lay as much ordenance on to them as they lay on to you , falcons are also quite resistant to fire power of any kind with the holo field/spirit stone combo so I wouldnt worry about them going down too fast
Awwww no I opened my drawer and took out some old warhammer models then tried too put them back in and close the drawer but couldn't, damn the stupid black hole = free OOP models for Brettonia due too not being able too squeeze them back in my drawer >_<
Well, depends. as is the most fitting answer you'll get.
If it's a mechanized force, then vypers, wraithlords, guardians, and avatar, along w/ spiders and reapers, as these can actually penetrate the chimera. If it's a slogger army, then spiders, SCORPS (in ws, or stealth, usually stealthed), swooping hawks, warwalkers, and more vypers will do you well.
As mentioned, depends. The last IG I played was 1000 pts vs 1 hellhound, leman russ, and 4 or 5 chimera all full of troops. Talk about ugly, he only had 2 men left and I still had 75%, including my avatar, wl, and 3 squads of guardians. But he trounced a bunch of other armies that day.
Vypers and shuricannons are great and cheap for the amount of fire they can throw out, and falcons can easily chew through most anything. Make sure that if you're taking guardians, always get conceal for them.
But as you're beiltan, focus on the troops mentioned earlier.
As I said I'm just started so I need help against a 4- or 500 points army! but thanks a lot for the answers
Ah, but you didn't say a 400-500 point army. To combat this, and as mentioned this is only me, because it fits my play style, use guardians. I prefer a squad of storm w/ 2 flamers, and a vyper w/ double shuricannon. then extra spent on another guardians squad w/ a platform.Originally Posted by 002dk
Could always do the farseer and a few warlocks w/ singing spears for whatever tanks they have, and an eldritch storm (costly, but effective vs ig, as will mindwar).
Or, if you really want to cheese some one off (as in annoy and make angry, not that this is actual cheese -debated already, follow that thread) you could go a farseer w/ mindwar and singing spear ( or witchblade), 2 sqauds of 5 guardians w/ platforms, and 2 wraithlords. You probably wouldn't find many people to play with after that, but it would be rather effective.
