Welcome to Librarium Online!
The other day I reading the new tyranid codex at my local GW and was wandering "how will all these new rules change the way we eldar players fight tyranids". I have to say that the new models and rules are very intimidating. If anyone has read the new codex please post some tactica against them.
well against normal nids there will now be an even greater emphasis on synapse as we'll have lost our synapse nodes. thus warriors, HT's, zoans and broodlords should be a top priority. once these are removed the rest of the army canbe taken out piecemeal.
however, against a monster heavy swarm really the only thing one can do is load up on starcannons and other heavy weapons. wraithguard, with their ability to instant kill (this will probably still work in the new dex) may be useful against big nasties. however, it is apparently impossible (points wise) to give an eite carnifex extended carapace so reapers may come in useful then.
No kiddin, did you hear about the regenerate special rule where a monstrous creature can heal a wound on a 4+. Plus you got all the little creatures to worry about. Its just a big mess.
Actually it's on 6. For each wound lost, the critter gets a D6 roll (probably at the end of the Tyranid turn). Each 6 regenerates a wound. If it dies, then it stands back up again with one wound on a 4+. The regeneration isn't nearly as reliable as Old One Eye's was, but it can potential heal more wounds at once.Originally Posted by Bane_of_the_Mon'keig
I didn't. The rumours forum has alot of information in a thread entiteld "New Codex Information", though. Also, some stores apparently already have a copy of the codex for people to look through (not for sale, yet).Originally Posted by ShadowZora13
Yeah, I read it and there are some new biomorphs and a new HQ. Plus the new models look wicked awesome. Overall they kick @$$ and don't bother takin names. We're gonna have to make up some strategies cuz these guys mean business!
Saw the new dex at con flict T.O. it s out in CANADA and the new nids are really cool and stuff. there have been big changes lots of heavy weapons killing synapse will be much more important although the stealers are uneffected by synapse although they have the brood lord. they are so cool you won't see 2 tyrants in one army. however you might have to fave six carnifexes!!! lots of heavy weapons and speed will be incredably important so don't skimp on the starcannons! no
Regenerate happens at the begining of the Tyranid turn, and any surviving Carnifexes get a D6 roll against any wound lost the previous round. A roll of a 6 restores the wound. If the Fex dies, it stays dead.Originally Posted by Ostsol

wow! Then its not as powerful as the GW guys made it to be. Still, there are going to be plenty of Carnifexes in tyranid armies. The only thing that really gets me is the broodlord (the super genestealer) that thing is crazy scary!
