this is probably gonna sound odd, but whats so great about the harlequins?
I mean to me they're just regular eldar. (well they die the same under the great fire of my grey knights)
Tucker: just give her money, she'll do anything for money
Tex: no I won't
Tucker: I'll give you 10$ to break grif's arm
Tex: which one's grif?? ^_^
Grfi:   he's grif *motions to simmons*
they have fancy clothes and jetbikes with smiley faces!
hARLIQUINS tast like chicken.
Well I play Harlequins along with my Eldar (I use the combanation of both in the games i play) and Harlequins are actually very deadly. Especially at CC. The Solotairs really ownz on the charge because of blitz attack and you can get some really awsome wargear like making you need a 6 to hit in CC. Im not gonna go into all the details but Harlequins are definitly really deadly if used right.
Harlequins are definately very very awesome. They are like 200 gajillion times better in CC than most things and have a whole bunch of awesome wargear. And there regular save is a cover save so you always get that, which rocks. I love my Harlequins.
Solitaires are meh; without anything to shield them, all they are is a one-shot assassin. Now, getting a unit of Death Jesters with Bright Lances and teleportation fields is fun. Super Snipers Unite!
There's several problems Harlequins have. Flame weapons eat them alive (ignore cover), meaning that Hellhounds are murder against them. Also, if your hit by a Markerlight, say goodbye to your guys (markerlights make next attack ignore cover). Remember always to use terrain since you always treat it as clear, and always stay spaced far apart. Pity your flip belts are now useless thanks to 4th ed assault rules...
Harlequins are quite deadly yes, since they just got a but load of attack even on the normal troops. And of course the facts stated above.
'Thou shalt not refer to the Adeptus Soritas as "Bolter Bitches" nor shalt thou go anywhere near our sisters during the time of the "Red Rage," lest thou wishes to be the first human to enter orbit without the aid of a shuttle.'
Not the way I read them. In the 3rd ed assault rules, Hormagaunts had the same ruling as Harlequins. They now get a 4" assault range to compensate. To have the Harlies with a similar rule doesn't seem like a stretch in the slightest.Originally Posted by MagicJuggler
Most clubs tec accept the fact that Harlies have 4" effective range in CC.
Incidentally I have NEVER lost CC with grey knights.
And the Solitaire cannot be shot at generally if he is not the closest unit as he has IC status.

But chances are he will be the closest character, at least if you wish to maximize upon his Blitz attack.
