Welcome to Librarium Online!
playing necrons, against nids with an OOE, i felt a little bit cheesed. OOE is shall we say, a little bit indestructible? 2+ save, REGEN, only dies half of the itmes you kill it...
LOADs of attacks...
it doesnt seem that any points cost can really justify all of that. does it have a weakness?
2 actually. The first is it only moves 6", so you can ignore him for a good 4-5 turns. The second is that OOE is going the way of the dodo once the 4rth edition codex hits the streets. Though, Nid players can build and even tougher Fex than OOE under the new rules. I'd go as far as to say that, if kitted out properly, a Fex stands a chance of killing the Nightbringer in HtH (I'd say the C'Tan, but every Necron player worth his salt would just run the Deceiver away after it attacked)
Gyauayuayuayua! Ja! Ve vill crush da little girly men in deir little girl men awrmor! Ve vill see owur enemies driven befowur us, und hear da lahmentaytions of deir wemen. Und from owur home planet, de stayte uf Califowurnia, ve vill lawunch owur mighty offensive. Even if you kill us, ve'll be bach!! Gyauayauyauyauyau!

You have a thing called a C'tan...
Takes the shine off any Nid Monstrous Creature a bit.
A first I think you should place that topic in necrons section.
Tyranid monstrous creatures have no weak points if you are playing necrons and the old one eye is the toughest one (imho).
There are some ways to take them out just like the eldar wraith lords.
Bring a liht at about from the crature 18,you must have a res orb close. Then you bring a unit of necron warriors through the lith and take a rapid fire on the bast.. ugh I mean monstrous creature. Inevitably you get assaulted. Next turn after WBB rolls repeat breing th warriors again through the lith and reroll your WBB,propablu one necron warrior is going to die or none. I use this agains technique agains wraith lords and walking tyrants.
You can always chase them around with destroyers.
Concerning OOE I just ignore him. Necrons are always able to get away from a unit that move 6` per turn (veil, lith),and if OOE assaulted your destroyers I don`t know how you did it.

You are going to field c`tan agains nids just to take out OEE  C`tan moves only 6 per turn poor chance you will attack anything.
Your c`tan is going to be assaulted by 20 gaunst and propably he will be locked in cc with them to the end of the game; 1 gaunt = 6 points your C`TAN will kill 3 to 4 of them in one turn. Your at least 300 is going to kill 18 to 30 points in one turn
So does OOE.....Originally Posted by Mouse
If I played Necrons against Tyranids ,I'd field a warrior heavy force with the Nightbringer replacing the normally obligatory heavy destoyers. The C'tan could easily defeat any unit that the nids could send against it. I'd simply place my Nightbringer across from the main monstrous creatures threat.Sigh.Originally Posted by Mouse
Someone doesn't know the rules for the C'tan. Neither of the C'tan can be tired up by numbers. Look up the following rules:
Nightbringer: Gaze of Death/Etheric Tempest.
If you tried to tie up the Nightbringer with a brood of gaunts in a game I think I would collapse from the laughter.
Dude i take it you haven't got the necron codex a c'tan can kill loads of models per turn Gaze of death comes to mind , big templater no saving throwOriginally Posted by Mouse
