It seems if i am reading the ravener entry correctly :eek: The ravener must have either ST&ST or ST&RC, but it MAY also have 1 DS/Devourer/SF

Yeah, we were talking about this in GW last week. I think it worked out something like a Ravener could move 9", fire 6 shots with a Devourer, charge another 9" and attack 6 times (3 attacks, +2 for quad ST's, +1 for charging). Goodbye squad of opponents.
Armour and toughness sucks though, which is the balance. Just keep well away from anyone with anything resembeling a barrel.. Or teach your Raveners to dance with the skills of Michael Jackson to avoid the gunfire.
I would just give them pure cc weapons and save points for other things (like warriors or 'fexes).

Depends on your opponent.. If you're going against an enemy with low armour/toughness like IG or Gretchin you should kill (on average) 2.5 models per volley of fire, working on 6 S3 shots against T3/6+ save.
Would be pretty useless on T4/3+ save Marines though. You'd be lucky to take down one.

where did you get the move 9 assault 9 from?
in my game last night although my oppoent throught thw whole wouldnt let me deepstrike because i'd already fire 1 volley(i remember every turn in the shooting phase), i wasted 250 points out of my army and never got to use them, and for those points he had a land raider
They don't, Raveners move like beasts now as detailed in the BGB
Yeah, so thats 6" move, D6" fleet of claw, and 12" charge. AS long as you roll 3+ on your FoF they're faster.
