Welcome to Librarium Online!
I've seen this suggested many many times, but I was just wondering about the exact technical details of it. I figure you could probably do it pretty easily by cutting off the dagger blade from the Witch Elves and putting it on the bottom of the grip, and then putting a pistol on the top, making it look like a Wych weapon. You could then just leave the sword the same if you're lazy, because I think a sword looks better than one of those double-bladed Wych weapons. But I was wondering:
a) Where can you get the pistols from? I'm sure you'd get a fair few spares from playing Kabal, but what about if you are playing as Wych Cult? I'm seriously considering Wych cult as my next WH army, and so that would be useful to know, to say the very least.
b) Do any of you convert the Witch Elf heads? Sure, they're very pretty as they are right now, but they don't look like they would fit very well with 40k Wych heads in your army... or do you simply not use the standard 40k Wyches at all?
c) Any other notes to add to complete a basic conversion guide?
a) Warrior sprues. You have to buy a lot of warriors, but thats life. Alternatively, you could perhaps buy pistols from a fellow DE player why does not convert. I simply cut of the blade as you suggested, and add a pistol. For some of my wyches, I just simply add a pistol in a holdser to the belt of the wyche, those models represent the squad members carrying wyche weapons.
b) Yes and no. I leave the wyches wearing mask alone (like the ones on reaver jetbikes), and cut of the heads of the others, replacing them with dark elf witch heads.
c) A wyche cult army is one of the most time consuming armies to make, since almost every model has to be converted. It will take a long time before mine is gaming ready, but it is worth it..

Or just convert entire squads so they don't look out of place with each other. I have a squad of Witch Elves and another of Wardancers. They don't stick out when you use the same minis in each squad.
