I'm not sure when this is going to happen, but me and my friends (Necron, Orks, Tyranids, SM/IG) are planning to have a team game soon.
so far we have had Nid's and Necrons Vs Orks and SM (750 pts per player)
and Necrons & orks vs Nid's and SM (1000 pts per player). Read the battle report here: http://darkhand.bravehost.com/Batrep1.html
we did this so that it was CC&shooty to each team.
Now we are trying to do another game CC vs Shooty, at 1000-1500 pts per player (we're not sure)
I dont really have enough for a 1500 unless i just include everything i have: 1 lord, 4 destroyers, 2 heavy destroyers, 30 warriors, 11 scarabs, and my ally would be taking about 1000 pts of SM, and then 500pts of IG armoured company. (i could also squeeze in a c'tan- actually a small flying pony)
Nids will be playing by the old codex probably, and taking an old one eye, 6 warriors, hive tyrant, 2 units gene stealers, and some hormegaunts.
Orks will be taking 2-3 mobz of Boyz with shootas and choppas, probably a pain boss with some cyborks, a trukk, 2-3 buggies, and some gretchin. and obviously a warboss.
any tips on army building? or playing? i was thinking GofF on the lord: stop those annoying charge attacks...
i probably won't get many replies for this next bit, but here goes: any particular useful things for the SM/IG player? lists or tactics? please let me know.
Chances are you won't get charged. With Tyranids and Orks charging forward, they'll clash in the middle and block much of the long ranged shooting anyway.
If SM is taking tanks (as indicated by the IG allies) I suggest Scarab Swarms with Disruption fields. Just turboboost them up the field, past the orks if you can* and mince the tanks. Also take your Warriors and Destroyers and advance them behind your Tyranid allies. I know your guys are more durable but Tyranids really should rush ahead and get to slicing and dicing as soon as possible.
* could somebody look up Jetbikes? I'm pretty sure moving like a Jetbike allows you to jet over enemy models but I want confirmation.
And over there we have the labyrinth guards.

Nothing can move over enemy models, not even things like jump infantry that can go over impassable terrain, or c'tan which can go through impassable.Originally Posted by CBrate

we have already done orks & sm vs crons and nids, and orks and crons vs nids and SM.
what i am asking about is a team game; Necrons with SM/IG Vs Orks and Tyrannids. 3000pts per team (1500 per player)
