Welcome to Librarium Online!
The title says it all, enlighten me.
-both are good for medium and high toughness creatures and tanks.
-both tripple strength and always wound on 2+
singing spear-2 handed but can be thrown for a ranged attack
witchblade- 1 handed should be equiped with shuriken pistol for more attacks
its all on what that warlock/farseer is gonna do and what they are going against.
if you have a seer council equiped with witch blades in a falcon, dump them infront of some ogryns or a small squad of SM's or CSM's.
or put a farseer on a jet bike with a singing spear and tank hunt.
They are *not* repeat not power weapons which drastically reduces their effectiveness. If they were power weapons then they'd be the best weapon in the game for 15pts
Honestly I like the singing spear a bit more because it's more versatile because you can shoot tanks and not have to charge them. But I generally dont take either because I play Biel tan and a farseer is purely there to be my fortune and mindwar slave, he doesnt deserve weapons
When I take either one, I take singing spear, because, since I field a farseer on his own, he is safer when he's farther away from the enemy.
However, nowadays, I just use him to either help my scorpions stay alive, or mindwar stuff. I try to keep him dirt cheap.

It was a sad, sad day when I realized that neither the singing spear nor the witchblade were power weapons. It was a little sadder day when I realized that the range on the Singing Spear was not 18" but in fact something much more humble. I'm almost certain I read somewhere that you shouldn't put weapon or unit stats on the forum, so I'll refrain from saying what the actual stunted range of the S.Spear really is.
Please go back and reread the codex:eldar in the wargear section. Then, if you need a tissue or a shoulder to cry on, then I'll be there for you.
Bring a Saim-Hann army. Your opponent won't know what to do with him/herself.
My opponents usually just giggle.
Unless your planning on wading in to a unit and then tying them up till judgement day with fortune in which case take Blades, i'd go with the spear, nothing like seeing your opponents face when his skimmer he thought was so safe is blasted out of the air by a seer.
Good in combo with Eldritch as spinning the opposing tank to show its flank or rear armour before throwing (councils or Farseer/Warlock Teams only) is even more fun.
So there you go, tactically i prefer the spear, if your seers are filling in as crowd control over scorpions or the like, blades, or if your cheap neither.
Ask not a question of the eldar, for they will give you three answers all of which are true and horrifying to know.
Lets straighten this out once and for all. Witch Blades and Singing Spears are not Power Weapons. Their real abilites can be found in the Eldar Codex (although the Witchblade description is missing in some older versions).
Now, onto the real question:
Witchblades or Singing Spears? Well assuming you'd take a Shuriken Pistol with the Witchblade, it's really a choice of whether you want stronger shooting or CC. The Singing Spear grants one less attack in CC than the Witchblade combo, but gives you a S9, 12" shooting attack. You have to choose: Shooting or CC? Also consider that if you have Mind War/Eldritch Storm, then you'd be using that rather than throwing the spear.
