    Steal Tactics

i'm getting Stealths next. Here is what I have:

    Aun'shi
    Shas'O and bodyguards
    Two squads of Fire Warriors
    Hammerhead with railgun.

How should I use Stealtsh? What are some strategies?

I was thinking to use them on a target otherwise for fire warriors, shielded from range, and then use the Fire Warriors own range against a farther target.

    All help is appreciated. Thanks.

Do NOT rely on the Night vision to carry you through, as the average night vision sight is your firing range. Unless you're using them as an expensive markerlight (get pathfinders instead), it won't shield you. Infiltrate them 24 inches, NOT 18, so that they're out of assault range. Use them in cover as they pop out, fire shots, then move back. They CAN be used in melee in a pinch, as they're Strength 4, Attack 2, and always count as being in cover, but DO NOT think of them as Marines.

RULES FOR STEALTHS (yay, more rules)
    1. Never upgrade. The average cost of stealths in a unit should be 30p.
    2. Units of 4 or 6.

Ok, now strategy: I love to put them behind a piece of terrain, walk into it using difficult terrain movement, shoot at the enemy units, and then jump back behind the terrain so they can't be unit. While units on the other side of the board can see them, that's not a problem, and the terrain blocks LOS from the closer units that might actually roll 8's or 9's to see them.

I also love sitting my stealths close to a depleted squad (depleted = 1 3+ save model left, 2-3 4+ saves, 3-4 5/6+ saves). Why? Because when assaulted they count as being in cover . And they have 2A at S4 each. Often a free kill in my opponents turn.

Always get the biggest squad possible, the look on your opponents face when you roll for 18 shots will be priceless, but you must get of pic of when you do it again, and again ect ect.

Also on a side note, you Shas'o will be more versitile if you use the Crisis Suits as elites choices.

    Thanks guys. That helps.

I will only upgrade with drones. I'm a drone freak. (ask Eldar_Lord about that one)

The bodyguards are part of a drone strategy, teh unit has six drones to take out before the battlesuits. Thanks for the additional advice though.

the Shas'O with bodyguards is no longer an IC, so you could use the Drones to screen then, but it won't always work.
