I need to settle down with an army list that I can use alot and get accustomed too. I'd like it to be pretty balanced and be able to perform well in missions and against different armies.
I own -
Configuration 1 - TL Plasma/Missle/MT
Configuration 2 - TL Missle/Flamer
Configuration 3 - Plasma/Missle/MT
Configuration 4 - Plasma/Fusion/MT
36 Fire Warrior
8 Pathfinder all with Pulse Carbines
2 Hammerheads - 1 Railhead and 1 can be either Railhead or Ionhead
Please give me some suggestions (or just plain post a list with tactics) for 1,000 points.
Try getting 1 kroot squad with two static fire warrior squads, put the path finders in the devil fish. Arm the hammerheads with one weapons each, two railguns is overkill
Definatly use stealths.
Heck you gota balanced army right there.
Maybe just get a few more devil fishes, I love those transports ^_^
Just try to sort it out to 1000 points
Remember that in 1000 points:
-You need some good sized units of troops
-You shouldn't go crazy on tanks and heavy armor.
-The Broadside won't be doing you much good.
-You need to configure your army depending on your mission (sleaths, crisis, devil fish for take and hold etc.)
-Don't go crazy on the commander
-You shouldn't think of me as an old lady ranting on about what you can and can't do.
Just some pointers but you should ultimatly write up a list for 1000 points and then let us trash...um..I mean edit it.

"Heresy is like a garden weed, it won't stop feeding until you... BURN THE WHOLE DAMN GARDEN WITH A FLAMER, BURN IT, BURN IT TO HELL!!!!!" "Is there a wittle puppy in the garden? ITS A DAEMON! BURN IT!"
To be blunt, cut off that plasma from the fireknife and stick it to the helios or get another plasma off someone else.
You can make a great list with those models. I suggest not sticking to a list, and try different ones.
I urge you to make the other hammerhead an ionhead, I made the mistake of 2 railheads and am now stuck with proxying until I can afford another hammerhead. I've not used 2 railheads without an ionhead for a very long time (what I mean is that I proxy devilfish for ionheads).
The Hammerhead that can be either is because they are magnetic and I can remove and put other on as I please.
How does this sound? I'm thinking it is pretty balanced, and would be able to handle missions.
HQ - 98
Shas'el - TL Plasma - Missle - HW MT
Elites - 60
Crisis - TL Missle - Flamer
Troops - 363
Fast Attack - 297
8 Gun Drones
8 Pathfinders - Devilfish - 2 Seekers - Decoy Launchers
Heavy - 180
Hammerhead - Railgun - SMS - Decoy Launchers - Multi-Tracker - Target Lock
Total - 998
I like this list for a couple reasons. With the railgun, seeker missles, and missle shots any heavy armor/transports should easily be dispatched of. The gun drones deepstriking can take out any pesky sit back and shoot squads, and the kroot can infiltrate to claim objectives and help against assault. While mobility is low for my fire warriors, all the other targets on the field should make up for it.
>> Edit to first post << I also have like 20 gun drones ><
I agree with onlainari, Pathfinders are cool but in a 1000pts they're too expensive. Drop them and put in 4 man stealth team and another Crisis suit. Maybe go for a Sunforge or Helios pattern if you're looking for some anti-armour (to replace the pathfinders seekers).
HQ - 85
Shas'el - Plasma - Missle - Multi
Elite - 237
Crisis - TL Missle/Flamer
Troops - 240
Fast Attack - 96
8 Gun Drones
Heavy - 340
Railhead - SMS TA MT TL DL
Ionhead - SMS TA MT TL DL
Total - 998
Can't downgrade the SMS as that is one thing that I glued on, and can't remove. Can't wait to test this army out. Thanks for all your help everyone.
Hey what kind of magnets did you use for the Hammer/Railhead, and where did you put them? I have the 1/8" magnets reccommended in Tonya Tau's article, and I don't see a suitable place to put them in. I am near to giving up and using blu-tac.
