I was wondering should i have 4 tetra's instead of full sqaud of path finders with rail guns. Tetra's might be usefull because they can turbo 24" before the game starts and then turbo 24" again once the gun starts if they wanted to. At first i thought they would be rubbish but hit them on 6's and only get glancings and still hac e a 3+ invunrable i might use them in recon missions.
im just asking what to buy and your verdict
I really like the model, I hate using pathfinders for markerlights, and I play mech so I would probably say yes. Just make sure to bring some seeker missles :p.
hm.... ill make an army list and tell me is it fits it.
Tetras are vehicles... they don't have "saves".Originally Posted by MADDNESS

I don't really like Pathfinders, but I like Tetras even less. Why?
One of the biggest strengths of a Pathfinder Team is that it can both be an effective combat unit and a Markerlight unit. Anybody who says otherwise has never encontered Rail Rifles. Add in the element of a Devilfish, and you have a unit that can fight as well as a full team of standard Fire Warriors.
While Tetras DO offer a significant price decrease, individually, they offer a significant reduction in power. A 4-Tetra team costs 240 points. This gives you 4 Markerlights. A full Pathfinder Team-8 Pathfinders, with a Shas'ui, 3 Rail Rifles and a Devilfish-costs 216 points, and has 5 Markerlights, as well as all the Carbines, Rail Rifles and Devilfish weapons.
I can see the use of Tetras compared to Pathfinders-if you just need Markerlights, then they're your unit-the ability to move 12" and still use the Markerlight, etc-but they have no other role, and they're incredably fragile-anything larger then a Lasgun will cause havoc for them.
