Welcome to Librarium Online!
If I were to start an eldar army, I'd have about 150 dollars to spend. I would like to tool the army to have alot of mobility. Anyone have an idea on what to spend my money on to get me started? And could that amount boost me to 750 - 1000 points?
Well, fi you purchase Codex: Eldar and Codex: Craftworld Eldar, you'd be able to make these decisions yourself, but off the top of my head, Saim-Hann Craftworld and Beil-Tan are very mobile. The former composed of Jtebikes and Skimmers, the latter usually mounted up in lots of transports and using fast Aspect Warriors. It's better if you try and work out what you want first, then post it here, and we can "refine" your choices.
You cannot win, for to fight us is to give us power.
Not totally sure but I don't believe any of the choices of craftworlds would put you at 750-1000₧ (legally atleast), you could probably, maybe easily, get 500₧ of stuff. Also for choosing, you could go by whatever color scheme you would like best and what models you would like to see kill your opponents models .
check this site out, this is where I bought my first eldar units, and it saved me tons of money
Id say get the battle force a farseer and some dire avengers and then the codieces. That will bring you to around $150 U.S. from hill city (the link in a previous post)

I'd say go with the codexs then after you decide if your using a variant of not, buy a Farseer and then a set of troops. All of that and paint will cost you around $150 australian dollars
1st i'd recommend you download army builder from wolfslair.com The demo version only allows you to have 3 squads listed at a time, but you can use this to calculate point values of all your units. Very handy if you don't have a codex, and it also explains wargear and weaponry, etc. You can also use this to find points per buck when u cross reference with GW prices.
As an example, a decked out falcon with CTM, spirit stones, holo fields, and starcannon will be about 190 points @ $40 is about 5 points per dollar. Meanwhile a lean viper is about 65 points @ $30 which is about 2.2 points per dollar.
The unfortunate thing is there are a bunch of units that horrible point per buck ratio, but are pretty vital to most armies (fast attack vehicles across the board). At this time I think a pair of vypers (if not 4) are vital to most Eldar armies.
Just about every rogue trader with a website sells GW at 20% off. some also have free shipping over $75.
The warstore is where I get my stuff. just use the GW cart to come up with $190 worth of stuff, then call the warstore (or your 20% discount store of choice) and get em.
