The monolith model: how big is it? i think somebody said 135^2. does it come with a flying base?
does it have any bits underneath that you can drill into to put it on a flying base?
The Monolith is about 150mm by 150mm and 210mm tall.
It does not really have anything you can drill into at the bottom to add a flying base, but it does not need one because its got 4 small thin leg type things on the bottom that make it look like its about 10mm of the ground.
If you want photo's of the base let me know and I will email you some.
Hope this helps
I made a monolith- type tank from balsa wood to use with my necron force due to the cost of the proper model, and looking at romstrads measurements, looks like i made it the correct size. It wasnt that hard to make to be honest, being just a basic pyramid shape. Hope to save up enough pennies for a real one soon, but in the meantime i can see how it works with the home made one, although obviously couldn't use it for 'official' games.
Did the same with a nightbringer, made from one standard plastic warrior for the head/ shgoulders and then scratchbuilt flowing robes/ arms/ scythes from millput, greenstuff and plastic card.
there are a few pictures here: http://www.neilandannettec.co.uk/warhammerpage2.htm

Oh, my god! When I was reading your post I was thinking "Hmm, I can't imaging it to look that great? lol". But then you see the picture and to be honest, thats a pretty cool model considering you made it your self! Very impressive.
Anyway, just out of intrest Tunisia, why did you ask if you could add a flying base to it?
Are you going to build a monolith?
If you are a word of advice. Don't glue the walls/sides/panel/whatever together with the guns out. Put the guns in then glue the sides/whatever together. Otherwise you won't be able to fit the guns in.
"DICE FOR THE DICE GOD!"
And the almighty Dice God said to his followers "Thou shalt not speak ye words "anything but a one" For thou whoever'st speaketh this blasphemy will be cursed with thy rolls being of one".
I bought a monolith the other day, and I started looking at how I'm going to have to glue it together. Then I started crying. I think you need about 8 hands to properly assemble this beast.
I wanted to know because ppl have said that it has no flying base, and i thought it would look a bit bad if you just sat it on the floor, or it had opaque legs coming out of it.
i can get circles of clear plastic of any size; my parents have a machine which makes them. i thought it would be cool to have an actually 'skimming' monolith.
is that seriously a scrathed 'lith? BANG!
nightbringer looks amazing as well- how do you gain such skill(zor)s? Teach me, master!
Thanks Tunisia, very nice of you.
I Just have a go, with the thought of how much money I'm saving at the back of my mind!
Seriously, have been modelling for over 20 (!) years now, ranging from military 1:72 to warhammer scenery.
Always been a bit disapointed with the monolith, and its general blocky unstreamlined shape, but I suppose it fits in with the other Necron stuff. Be nice if they released another vehicle for us though, perhaps a smaller transport or gunship.
I think the Monolith looks best on a flying base to give it the 'hovering' look, though not too high up.
