Hey, I'm just starting my Tau army. I'm coming from doing WFB Lizardmen, so I'm looking foward to doing a shooty army. I'm just looking for some pointers about where to start building up the army and basic tactics. No special information required other than that I really like Pathfinders, Kroot Mercenaries w/ Krootox, and Stealth Suits and want to work them into the army somehow. Thanx for the help.
NOT THE FUZZY ROOM!!!! No!!!! You can't take my Hobo socks away!!!! NOOOOOOO!!!!!!! !
Welcome!(formalities out of the way)
Read the codex.
Read this forum.
Read this forums archive.
Come back with specific questions.
Other then that...basic tactics? Shoot them before they shoot you. Don't die.
edit: Did I mention "Read the Codex"? Yea, do that about 10 more times too.
Record as of 26 December for my Static Tau Cadre.
10 wins, 0 losses, and 1 draw.
Last game: Victory over Necron in a 600 point "kill em all" that lasted til turn 10 ending with a phase out.
And make sure to read the Codex.
Anywho, it's good to see another Tau player here.
First, I recommed looking up the various Intro to Tau articles in the articles section, there's lots of good ones there.
Second, Stealth Teams, Kroot and Pathfinders are all good units to work into an army. Krootox, however, are like Guard Ogryns-great on paper, a 50-point handicap in the game.
And I don't think anyone mentioned to read the Codex. That's a must, it will save you much frustration.
Burn the land and boil the sea. You can't take the sky from me.
