i have about 2000 points of orks and i was thinking of going for a feral army..i wouldnt need many more models..just a squiqoth!...any one play them? are they worth while?
There are a number of Feral Ork players on this board. I play three armies ...
I have a Harlie army that I never play anymore as well.
I've played 40k for a long time. I have to say that Orks have aleways been my favorite army. I switched to Feral as soon as the list became legal. Now I've heard it said that Feral Orks are a downgrade from other Ork clans. Don't believe it. They are unique and very competitive. Most feral playes will agree at least on some units ...
Warboss on supercyboar accompanied by Nobz on cyboars
As many madboyz as you can paint
Now you can add Weirdboy and Brutes, Huntas, Grots, Squig Herds if you like and points permit.
Pigdocs and Styboyz are a must to accompany every madboyz squad and the HQ. Load up with as many rokkits as you can fit.
Now march dem madboyz up the center of the board using whatever cover you can find ... watch the mayhem ensue ...
Watch your HQ rip through anything throwntheir way ...
Try and take down my Squiggoths.
A well deployed Ork force is not meat for any grinder. You will find after getting used to Feral Orks that you are winning your fair percentage of games. If you enjoy converting this allows for alot.
Have some fun. Be brave.

I like 'em better then regular orks, they seem to have more character. My cousin plays Feral Orks, they're a pretty tough opponent to beat, and I can tell you from first hand expereince, being on the recieving end of a massive Squiggoth and a buncha big green guys on cyboars is just plain intimidating.
You gotta be really into converting though, because there's a lot of it.
I'm not too sure about them but I LOVE the squigoth
"Heresy is like a garden weed, it won't stop feeding until you... BURN THE WHOLE DAMN GARDEN WITH A FLAMER, BURN IT, BURN IT TO HELL!!!!!" "Is there a wittle puppy in the garden? ITS A DAEMON! BURN IT!"
I would see they have less character as there is not real fluff on them and a lot of the things for feral orks are useless. They will probably give them a better refined role when the new ork codex comes out as they and speed freeks will definitely have their own respective areas in there. In the case there isn't they might just get their own codeces.
Well, theres a couple of things to look at here greg. First of all, your only partly correct on not having to collect many more models. reason is, that you have to represent everything, so although Nobz, 'Ard boyz, or even slugga boyz could pass for brutes and madd boyz, units like herdas boar boyz and especially trappaz are going to need some extensive remodelling if not complete replacement. And plus, who wants to play an army that doesn't look the part, especially Feral Orks! Depending on ur cash flow I recomend going the whole nine with catapult lobbaz, aptly posed disgruntled madd boyz, tribal looking trappaz and custom Wyrdboyz and styboyz.(Classic Warhammer is a gold mine for models).I play the Army myself and can tell you first hand, they are definately worth while, and overall fun to play, Madd boys are not only the best close combat unit ever but also make a hilarious and entertaining game with their gamble.

or are you gonna bite? "
Where are the rules for the feral orks?
Chaos Undivided W2 T1 L0
three squigoths each w/three rokkits, isn't too many, pointswise. but hard to convert.
Is it possible to make an effective Feral Orks list without using Madboyz?
