Welcome to Librarium Online!
Greetings all. I'm new to the forums but I've been playing 40K for about 6 years now(heck,I even used to work at a GW store). Anyway,I'm planning on starting a sort of themed Craftworld list, after reading some of the fluff during the Eye of Terror campaign(ie, there was a bit describing Maugan Ra stepping from a portal with a ton of dark Reapers following him, awesome) I've decided to do a Striking Scorpion(Biel Tan) army, with Karandras leading. Now I do realize that tactically, any shooty army will eat me for breakfast, but I'm not concerned with that, I simply see this as an opportunity to create a very specialized Eldar army. Anyway, here's what I have in mind for my list,I hope that I'm within the forum rules posting this, but I'd like any and all advice that some of you mor experienced eldar players have to offer, thanks in advance.
Farseer(not sure what wargear I'll use, but definately Guide)
20 Guardian Defenders
2x10 Striking Scorpions w/Exarch
2x9 Striking Scorpions w/Exarch(will Infitrate if applicable)
That's may base for now, once again any ideas will be greatly appreciated.
Edit: If this is posted in the wrong area, could a moderator please move it(I just noticed there is an Eldar Armies topic under the main Armies category,so sorry if this shouldn't be here)

Hi, welcome to the boards, I guess this slipped by without notice, lets see what we can do
Firstly as to forum, it is borderline but since you have not ut up a specific list for review, lets leave it here for the moment. When you refine it, by all means post up the list, but be careful to use the correct title or one of us brutal mods will drive by and blow it up
so to your list
Firstly Eldar have 2 prime close combat troops - banshees and scorpions, to be honest I prefer banshees, principally because of the charge with power weapons means they slaughter marines, but all close combat troops have to get into battle first and banshees have suffered from 4th ed changes to transport, despite the FOF they just dont stand up to concentrated fire, wheraas scorps have a decent save so fine, aslo scorps wil ltend to last in a protracted combat better than banshees
A standard approach to scorpions is a full or almost full squad with an exarch with stealth and a claw, serpents are generally not necessary as they can get there pretty much as quick if they infiltrate, of course if you are not playing infiltration rules then the ttransport helps, but it really is dificult in 4th ed to pull this off effectively, I would therefore be very tempted to ditch the serpents, if you do take serpents, remeber to give them spirit stones
Guardians are rather ineffective, as a basic rule if you are taking defenders, try and acompany them with a warlock with conceal but even so I would ditch them you can use the points better elsewhere
What in gods name are you hoping to guide with the farseer? If you take one, ideally fortune means that the scoprions stand up to fire even better but it is difficult to keep him with the scorpions, particularly if he infiltrates
OK your plans are rather one dimensional, Eldar work best as a fusion of stratergies, I would look to add some fire power, you can do this in all sorts of ways, but my 2 best would be falcons or walkers
The eldar army can't rely on one element to win or else they'll be outmatched in another. Thats why eldar aren't great at a particular thing, they're good all-around and each piece of the balanced army should be used with presision and unison with the others to win a battle.
But you can have a theme if you want it will give a twist to the game and will take more tactical thought.
I usually use Ulthwe but what i go for on this theme is 3 infiltrating squads of scorpions. Ideally my council could then move up and fortune them but since you don't have that, Karrandras will help by promoting fearlessness. Always remember though even with lots of infiltrating Scorps backup firepower will be needed, maybe include a pair of brightlance wraithlords on the fluff that they were great warriors from the force who fell in battle. That should add some anti-tank, infantry your scorpions can handle. Give the exarchs power claws and even the nids will have someting to worry about HtH.
Maybe add a falcon and another scorp squad, a starcannon or two or fill the falcon with scorps and you should be ready to start fighting to retake the empire from the Mon-Keigh.
Ask not a question of the eldar, for they will give you three answers all of which are true and horrifying to know.
