Welcome to Librarium Online!
Sure, all armies have some sort of thing they scream when they charge ("For the Emperor!" or the infamous "Waaagh!")... BUT OURS ACTUALLY DOES SOMETHING USEFULL! Yeah yeah, orcs can get higher initiative, but no one cares about that :p . I've been looking at all the army lists here and am starting to get worried that I have seen no psychic screamers (Didn't look at every list, may have missed 1 or 2). Think about the benefits for this... it's an 18" radius around your Tyrants or Thropes that stacks with the other modifiers (Half strength, outnumbered, etc.) just get the 5 screamers (3 Screaming Thropes being blocked from sight by 2 tyrants) near a CHapter Master and Ooo! the Marine's that listen to their leader take their tests at an amazing 5 leadership (Hey, this is an impressing difference), while almost all other armies have to roll snake-eyes for target designation (This is what happens when you stop fearing the big ones). Sure, tanks can shoot over you, but this gives you a chance to take genestealers and not worry about extended carapace because with the points you save you make a wall of rippers, and all you have to do is rend just a few times to kill the guys in base to base and bingo... fleeing time. Or you could do the Nid army with troops nicely boxed together, Zoans and Tyrants in front behind a low wall of rippers/spinegaunts to draw fire (lots of fire), while you have Fex's, Warriors, and Thropes shooting with templates all over, and if you manage to kill 25% of a unit... well... lets just see how well they take their panic tests.
Excuse any ranting, any comments (reasons to prove this bad/better) are great, and as always: this post has been brought to you by...

the fact that they stack is just wrong, it should be max -2 I've seen zoantropes walk units of the board!
*Cough* And the Tyrants become nearly invoulnerable to being assualted. Now all he has to worry about are those damn sluggas (with his 2 or 3+ save), but no worry of choppas taking away said save. Imagine the power you could feel just walking around the middle of an Ork army as none of them can attack you. Every time they look at you they cower in fear... All you have to do is choose the unit you want to die first.
Oh... The Horror of it all.

Yeah that too ^_^
I've really thought about this before and it would be awesome! I just never had the tyrants to fill it out. Also give the thorpes warp blast and in a few shots everything is fleeing, FLEEING!!!!

i'd imagine solitaires having trouble taking down a High T low Sv beastie due to either their lack of strength or a power weapon.
anyway, a lot of armies won't care about this as they're fearless. nearly every race has something like that. and as said just above. what happens when you run into a big fearless greater daemon or daemon prince? (or a khorne army where every model except bloodletters are fearless)
although i would really love to do this against someone like guard.
You forget the hidden power klaw.Originally Posted by Aristone

I am currently working on an army based on two things; psychic scream and swarming. Two tyrants and three zoanthropes only take up about 500 pts so the rest of the army will be a normal tyranid army with hundreds of models. All things being perfect, the enemy units will have a leadership of around 3 due to the combination of screams and outnumbering. If the enemy is fearless, then I will get bonus wounds on account of "No retreat". The hard part is winning the combat in the first place. The benefits of psychic scream also extend to psychic powers, which is a nifty way to deal with force weapons.
