    Hmmm let me guess...

    One word... YES... maybe...
I can't say for sure but if I not completely wrong I would think that the hormagaunts have better initiative and more attacks than the general mutant and therefor have a much better chance against them in close combat.
I can't say for sure, I haven't seen anyone play lost and damned yet, even rarer with mutants against 'nids.

You better try it out yourself first.

Bit of a silly question, logan grimmnar. Hormagaunts are the best troops choice against anything. If you have two full squads (32 in each) that's a lovely bucket of dice if you charge (192! 192 attacks&#33 You can drag down a daemon prince and 5 chosen terminator champions with about 40. So long as you've got the points have as many gaunts as you can get hold of THEY KICK ASS!!!!

Yeah the Hormies should do the trick but be aware mutants theyare considerably cheaper in pts cost than hormogaunts i think a mutant costs 6 pts
i know in the near future im going up against this type of army
    the guy has 2 defilers
loads of chosen thousand sons in termie armour
guarding a kick ass Lord whos possesed by a Lord of change in a land raider
and about 80 or so mutants....

hopefully my 2 winged hivetyrants backed up with a carnifex and 30 or so stealers and 3 zoanthropes should damage the lord and his chosen retinue

But im throwin the remainder of my pts in hormogaunts and rippers so ill let ya know what happens

maybe ill see if i can lose a few gaunts or stealers and take 3 biovores aswell to soften the mutants up like the 2 defilers are going to do to my force

all i can say is this barny is going to intresting ..........

To bad man, the defilers are gonna kick your ass! Battlecannons will flatten your troops and probably hurt the big gribblies too. Looks like you'll need a hell of a lot of warp blasts. Stealers might help in huge amounts (Yay rending claws) but they'll die from being blown up.

the Battle cannons are a big problem for my troops but my Big Nids tyrants, and carnifex should be ok extended carapce 2+ save the cannon only has ap of 3
my main fear is his HQ and the wind of chaos power that turns Tyrants and carnies into spawn on a roll of 6

im usually in combat on turn 2, sometimes turn 1 if i take lictors, so im just hopin he does not get very lucky with his Template weapons, with a bit of luck my 2 winged Tyrants will do the damage like they allways do
