Welcome to Librarium Online!
Alright there's two different things I want to do with my war boss
Option A: Put my warboss in mega armour, with a kombi shoota (rokkit) and a cyborg body
and mount him in a war trukk so he dosent have to struggle around the battle field
Option B: give him 'eavy armour, a bionik bonce, and a slugga and a choppa(thinkin about giving him a burna). Then for a body guard giving him a mekboy in mega armour, with kuston force field, and mouting them both in a trukk.
I had a choice between giving my warboss a cyborg body or the mekboy the force field. Which on do you think is better?
(I took one mekboy for the FF, and also the fact that i cant afoord 5 nobz)

I think you need the nobs to get the mekboy. For pure kill:cost ratio I'd suggest a warboss with mega armor, a combi-skorcha, a cybork body, and an iron gob, mounted in a trukk or riding with some trukk boyz.
Winters is correct. You need a nob bodyguard in order to take meks and doks. You need to double check your codex on who can take what as far as wargear goes. Some wargear is restricted as to who can use it The way you suit up your boss is up to you. Both have advantages and disadvantages. If you don't give your boss mega armor, I would still suggest you give him a cybork body. My boss always winds up in a fight with my opponent’s HQ and most of the time they have a power weapon. The KFF does not do anything for you in cc but still can be helpful against ranged weapons. Sorry if I wasn't too much help.
Actually, if you are going for pure kill-i-ness, mega armour is not the way to go. Why? Because it restricts you from getting a 2-CC weapon bonus. Mega Armour helps with survivability, but IMO its not as useful as it seems. If the enemy really wants the trukk with your mega armour warboss destroyed, they can do it, and now you have a suped up squad shambling at half speed. This many about as expensive, maybe a little more, but an uber boss would be with choppa, pclaw, cybork body, 'eavy armour, bionik bonce, so thats a 3+ 5+ with 6 s10 attacks on the charge, or 6 s5 i8 choppa attacks for those rare occasion you might need them. If you wanted to go all out you could even throw in a bionik arm to get an extra s4 attack per turn that auto hits.
This is indeed the best use of a Warboss, in my opinion too. S10 is just insane, those land raiders are as good as dead.Originally Posted by Bruiser117

I highly disagree, anyone putting a 'klaw on their warboss needs help. With their low initiative, Orks should NOT be wasting their highest on ST 10 strikes last. I personally just use Slugga/Choppa, usually with some sort of Kustom Job on the slugga for fluff reasons.
Ah crap I missed that whole thing of needing nobs to take a mek. I just got my codex like two days ago. I like bruiser's idea, but Im also sacrificing the highest initiaitive in the army, but then again, thats alot of str 10 attacks.

A good thing to keep in mind is also who all your boss is running with. If he's got a large group of nobs armed with powerklaws, then you can feel free to stick another PK on him. If he's running with skarboyz, give him a choppa.
Most of the lists that I see end up with a boss armed with a powerklaw/choppa, the Goff Set-Up. Let's you choose who all you're going to start smacking and with what. There's nothing better then rushing in, getting the WAAAGH off, killing off all of a demon prince's troops off the first round with your choppa, and then insta-killing him the next with your powerklaw.
"Some days you're the Mekboy building the kannon, the rest you're the grot being blown up by it."

Its said because it is a waste of such high initiative, but guess what! A boss with a slugga and choppa is still killing WAY less than he is with a p claw, even for point ratio. A boss with a slugga and choppa on the charge against a space marine tactical squad 6 x .666 x .666 x .5 = 1.333 dead marines while a boss with a claw is killing 6 x .666 x .833 = 3.333 marines. Thats over twice as much damage getting dealt and not reflective in its point cost. Plus the fact that it is s10 and can hope to bust any vehicle it wishes to attack (any, like even skimmers, cuz with 6 attacks one will probably hit, and s10 gives a good chance of busting about anything.) Yeah, it sucks that i8 is being wasted on such puny attacks (puny mostly because they aren't power weapons) but as of now the claw is just better.
Bruiser's right. So could I give him mega armour? Or eavy armour with bonce, power klaw and a choppa?
