Welcome to Librarium Online!
Every week for the last 3 weeks, on all 3 days i go to play 40k, 3 9 year olds with badly painted necron armys show up and yell when I beat them by means of fase out. they are all so anoying and they are driving other players up the damn wall! What should i do to get them to shut up?
You cant say manslaughter without laughter!
Well I don't think there is anything you can do other than not play them but I do find it more than irritating when players insult the mighty C'tan gods with poor sportsmanship.
This topic could just as easily be, "I hate noobs with Space Marines" or "I hate noobs with Chaos Space Marines". Irritating opponents can spoil an evening, regardless of what they have on the table.
WHFB: Dwarfs || WH40k: Imperial Fists, Necrons || WM/H: Trollbloods || BFG: Necrons
I know a necron noob that complains everytime he looses one man. And half of his guys pass their WBB anyway. But not all young players whine. I suggest you try and show them how to improve their game. If they don't listen then don't play them. The only problem is then your likely to get the parents that spoil them with the 100s of pounds/dollars of models from ebay that complain how you're bullying there 'little babies' after they've 'put their hearts and souls' into there models. I'v been there before. Bad memories
"DICE FOR THE DICE GOD!"
And the almighty Dice God said to his followers "Thou shalt not speak ye words "anything but a one" For thou whoever'st speaketh this blasphemy will be cursed with thy rolls being of one".
I know exactly what you mean, best is simply avoid them like hell but if they insist crush them into the ground so they learn it.
Don't have a go at them, try to help them, yes they can be infuriating. but remember - we were all like that at one point.
...or still are...
I'm easily irritated, but my local club doesn't have too many n00bs (well, no annoying ones, anyway) so I don't really have that experience.
...heh... once i thought that a rhino was a land raider...wow...
A man's at odds to know his mind, for his mind is aught he has to know it with.
I think I technically count as a newb, too. Only been playing since February. Although I don't complain like that. That's just idiotic.
Although I do seem to have a "s***ty role curse" that always costs me victory. Not that I'm saying it's the ONLY reason I lose, but...
a lot of people at the place where I play seem to have something wierd about them...
One guy has the interesting ability to correctly call the result of just about every move.
Example: "No one's gonna die." *roll* *no one died*
"My truck is dead." *roll* *boom*
At one point he rolled 3 dice 6 times, predicting one 1 each time. He was right. Although on the last throw, the 3rd die spun for about 10 seconds before landing on one.
Another guy can't make armour saves to save his life. Last sunday, he couldn't do ANYTHING to save his life.
Another guy who plays Guard has one Guardsman with a Missile Launcher in one hand, rocket in the other (unpainted, nicknamed "Rambo") has gone three battles now where he kills at least SOMETHING every turn. Most impressive was when he blew up a Rhino on a Penetrate of a six, and killed half the squad behind the rhino.
We all have noobs at our clubs, i guess its a case of giving them a chance and if they do get all whingy about loosing, they will give up the hobby beacause they get bored or will improve. I remember when i started playing Warhammer (Have only played 40K for a few months) people saying, if you won straight away it would be a miricle these guys have been playing for years, and also if you won straight away it takes away havlf the fun, revising lists, working on tactics, trying out options and youd probably get bored of winning - Good Advice for any noob
Just remember there's a big difference between n00b and newb. A newb is a person new to something. A n00b is a "OMGWTF t3h h00l!n b4nche3se r teh ch33zxors!!"
