i am going to enter a tourney where all armies must be cheezed up. now this is hard to do with orks, and i would really like some suggestions that i could use to crush everyone else.
(i am not a power player, this is just revenge for every time they have done the same to me)
Orks can't really be cheesed up and expect to win - many of the 'cheese' elements in other armies simply do not work with Orks.
Mix/Maxed squads? Lose all the mob size checks, power of the waaagh rules etc.
Min Troops, Max HS, FA or elites? Our troops are the strongest elements in the Ork army. Our elites fill the same functions as the troops but at a much higher cost, 3 fast attack choices don't go far, and even if you wanted to max out on Fast Attack, you might as well just go Kult Of Speed which is perfectly legal. As for Heavy Support... Well you can't max out on tanks - a single looted tank and a battlewagon isn't exactly gonna mow down marines, and having plenty of stompy stuff is perfectly fluffy for some ork tribes. Even with maxed-out killa kans, you aint gonna spend more than 450 points on Heavy support.
Loads of boyz with a nice grot screen, basalisk pounding away, kanz walking with the boyz some twin rokkit buggyz tank hunting and a nice boss walkin with da boyz. It's not cheese, but its a nice balanced list.
how about the lootas clan from the white dwarf, with one looted basilisk, one looted russ, one looted demolisher, and three looted rhinos (they dont need to have anyone in them) four heavy support b/c of nazdreg character. then just lotsa boyz.
Well basicly the only cheeze part orks can have is two tanks in a 500 point game
Why no one in the rhinos? Sort of a waste of points and a heavy support choice. If you can use special characters, take Nazdreg and do something like in this:
Buncha nobz and a warboss, all with Powah Klawz and otherwise tricked out. Now, everyone takes three attack squigs! thats arround thirty of em, and using Nazdregs rulez have them infiltrate/deepstrike into enamy terratory... its brilliant!

Because you can't use Nazdreg as a special character and make use of the special Klan rulez. The info for that little fact can be found on the UK Ork webpage, where all of the klan lists are located.Originally Posted by userpaladin
It's really, REALLY hard to cheese out an ork list (well, you still get cries of cheese whenever you manage to win a game... I have some friends who think that the KFF and grot save is cheap). Our looted vehicles are paid at the same point cost as the other armies pay for them, but we lose much of their special abilities, they use the ork ballistic skill, and the darn things have a bad habit of jerking forward when no one's looking.
The CLOSEST thing you can get to cheese is the feral ork list. A cheap warboss, six units of maxed out madboyz with pigdokz along with grot styboyz, and three massive squiggoths. You will not make any friends with this list. However, there's also a good chance that your units will kill each other off when you're not looking. Stupid crazy gitz.
However, the madboy rush is far from sporting, and is a one trick pony.
In the end... I feel that orks have the most balanced out list around. And it's hard to take advantage of cheaply like that. And yet, orks contenue to walk up to things and hit them aside the head and walk away the winner. Go figure.

this isnt really cheese, but i personally think that the orkks have the best supporting troop choice in the game; gretchin.
giving cover saves to orks behind them, which are better than their armour save, rerolling difficult terrain tests for those same orks, giving you another excuse for an ork with equipment (PK)...
not to mention the immense meat shield potential- with 30 wounds and only 90 pts, they can just soak up fire, and are generally closer than other orks and so force ppl to take leadership tests to fire at good stuff, and incredible for charging into combat after the first wave of orks to seriously outnumber ppl.
and only 3 pts each!!
9 kans (~450 points)
6 buggies (~350 points)
2 burna boyz squads both with meks with KFF and oilers backing up the kans (~350 points)
1 24 boy Slugga boy squad with warboss/nob with klaw (~350)
will be ~1500.
you got the wall of kans, with rokkit buggies causing havoc, as well as 40-50 boys backing em up with a ton of burnas.
you could use loadz of da mad boyz. dem feral orkses is mean, specially when you got about 60 doped up madboyz and tree gargantuan squigoths.
madboyz are about the cheeziest things orks got. and when you play feral you also get the unstoppable squigoth. just use as many madboyz as you can get with lotz o pigdoks and styboyz. then take a whole lot of the biggest squigoth.
When you combine Speed and Power you get Lightning.
