News on lash whip and carni

Look at the new GW article on the carnifex conversions! It makes clear that lash whip are cumultative! Oh and to close the debate, a carnifex with two twin-linked devourer fire 8 shot, it is confirmed.

i think that you cant have a double TL weapon (you cant reroll a reroll)
I love fielding 10,000 points per-player. DECOS all the way baby.
    Nurgle Demonic Legion: 19W-3L-5T.
    Tyranid All Shooty List: 10W-5L-6T

Is it too much when you can field 20k in fantasy?

Hey folks, check it out in the Black Gobbo e-zine under Carnifex Conversions. As MarcTheDwarf said it helps explain how weapon biomorphs work together.

Taking two Barbed Stranglers gives you one Twin-Linked Barbed Strangler.

Since Devourers are taken as Twin-Linked as standard for the Carnifex or Hive Tyrant, each pair is treated as a separate weapon.

Phaet, you're quite right. GW are very much against re-rolling re-rolls. The issue was that taking the same weapon biomorph twice made them count as Twin-Linked but Devourers were already Twin-Linked so it was a little confusing.

Thanks for the heads up. I might make a dual TL devourer fex some time soon then.

So finally, the tyrant guard arent weakened to much. Now I wonder, if two twin linked devourers fires 8 twin-linked shot, does that mean a fex with 2 venom cannons fires 4 twin-linked shot? Any thoughts on it?

Im about 98.3% sure it only gets 2 twin linked shots since the other guns that have been mentioned already are twin linked and you cant re-roll re-rolls

No, as per the Barbed Strangler example, 2x Venom Cannon = 1x Twin-Linked Venom Cannon. The Devourers are different because they are Twin-Linked to begin with.

    Yer, as LIeu sed.

Pg 30 of the Codex, top left under 'Ranged Weapon-Symbiotes' end of the paragraph:

"A Tyranid that carries two of the same ranged weapon symbiote counts them as twin-linked'
"They are coming! I feel them scratching inside my mind, scratching, screaming, running, so many - so, so many voices. They're coming for us - flesh, body and soul!"

So is taking two twin linked devourers really effective with all the decent strength rerolled shots? I might do it in my next carni, which will be standing up straight and tall. He can point them downwards. I'm not a huge fan of tiny guns on the big creature though...
