Welcome to Librarium Online!
while it is highly unlikely(okay like 10 the the hundreth trillionth power)
The Necrontyr agreed, and their souls were encased in living metal bodies. What they did not know was that the process dulled their minds and senses
every thing has the possibilty
lets say a heavy bolter shell nailed a necronat the perfect angle for him to break free from ctan rule
me being a imperial guard player i might just be incredibly naive
From the Necron Codex:
"their race was utterly purged, becoming instead the necrons and cursing themselves to eternal servitude..."
"Only a few of the very strongest retained their intellect and even they were shadows of their former selves..."
So all the possibly disloyal Necrontyr have been killed, and the loyal ones changed into mindless Necrons. Those who retained some of their intellect would most likely be the Necron Lords.
"The Necrons cared not, they would live forever as their gods dictated."
This is the telling point. From their point of view, they are not enslaved. They have given up their diseased and mortal bodies for bodies which would allow them the two things that they really want:
2. Vengeance on the Old Ones and their Legacy.
They do not feel themselves to be enslaved, the feel that they have ascended. They have gods which walk among them, and which have fulfilled al of the promises that they made.
I would say, that even if it were possible, none of the Necrons would want to. Also however they are held (if they are actually held), it would not be as crude a solution as a piece of circuitry in their bodies. So a Heavy Bolter shell, however flukey the angle, wouldn't do the job.
Greetings from Planet X, I hope you enjoy your day.

I agree. It is probably more of a psychic/brainwash thing anyway. Given that, though, of course some Necron may become lunatic (in their sense) and want a mortal, "free" life - interesting thought!Originally Posted by Corianis
You have to remember that they have no minds or souls (not sure which one), so in my opinion they have no chance for breaking away for ctan slavery, along with the rest of the galaxy slightly more down the road
