Welcome to Librarium Online!
I dont really understand Speed Freaks, I dont have a Codex yet so can you give me some info on them? And what are battle wagons?
Speed phreak rulez can be found in the amregedon codex.
Some of the more notable things in a speed phreak army is that all da boyz are mounted on truckz, bikes, buggyz bikes ect.
Battle wagons are the closest thing in the ork army list that resembles a tank. (looted vehicles need not apply) And it can give out a fair amount of firepower, while transportin da boyz into combat a bit more safely than truckz.
Speed Freeks are a secondary army style for the Orks. They sacrifice numbers for raw speed. Troop Choices contain Trukkboys (5-10 Ork Unit mounted in an extremely fast open-topped transport), Wartrakks (1-3 squadron of fast moving buggies that harry and annoy enemy flanks.), and Warbikes (3-10 Orks in warbikes, extremely fast unit overhauled with weapons that can fire in the first round of combat). Elites contain the Stormboyz (5-20 Ork Jetpack unit, fast assault troops.). Fast Attack contains Warbike Outrider (Warbikes with the abillity to start on the field automatically, and gains an extra 2d6" move before the game starts), Gyrocopters (1-3 Ork Unit similar to Warbikes but can be lead by a mekboy). Heavy Support contains looted vehicles, Gun Trukks (slightly armoured trukks with larger weapons, i.e. kannons, lobbas and zaap guns). The Main HQ can be either a Warboss or a Big Mek that must be mounted in his own transport (you don't have to be lead by a warboss).
These are most of the units in the army but their are many more such as the skarboys, 'ard boys, burna boys, tankbustas and more. This army relies on weaving in and out of terrain to block enemy gunfire and them striking down with coordinated assaults on the second or third turn. They are a more thought oriented army than the standard orks, but likewise are more difficult to win with. They are very fun and having less models means more room for conversion and less havoc painting hundreds of boys. The speed freeks will most definitely be a lot more in depth when the new ork codex comes out next year. I hope I helped.
BTW a Battlewagon is a Heavy Support choice / transport option for HQs. It is an enormous construct of ork geniousity, a hulking behemoth of pure scrap. It serves as a massive transport (up to 20 models) and a huge weapons platform (capable of having 5 big shootas, 3 Kannons / Zzap Guns / Lobbas / Twin-linked Big shootas and up to 20 shootas from the orks inside, which is a lot of death.).

Speaking of the Kult: has anyone around here ever tried the all warbike Speed Freak army? The idea appeals to me greatly, but I have personally never used bikes in combat.
Rough over view I was thinnking of a biker boss, a couple nobz with him, and 30-40 bikes, led by nobz with rokkits and power claws (for anti-armor.) Haven't run the numbers yet though to see how big it would be. (Or the kind of dent it would put in the wallet.)
I honestly don't think that would do to good, and it would be greatly outnumbered by just about everything.
But all those twin linked big shoota's......
Every time you read this sig: a fairie dies!
I have not personally made this army, however, I do have a good friend who did just this. He made a Speek Freek army with absolutely nothing but bikes.Speaking of the Kult: has anyone around here ever tried the all warbike Speed Freak army?
It was a scary sight to behold and with the new turbo boost rules, it is even scarier.
Downside: Their save is outright crappy. Yeah, it's a 5+ invulnerable, but it's still 5+.
Upside: Shooting. OMFG, can they shoot. Normally Orks are terrible at the whole shooting deal, but bikers have twin linked big shootas, which means a lot more hits than you would normally think. Since they are big shootas, they wound damn near all basic troops on a 2 or 3, and my guardsmen simply just die where they are standing cause of their poor saves.
you would get shot up, you do not have any real combat power, and your regular guys are really pricy. 5+ save just isnt enough.
Well the standard troop of a speed freak being a bike (in your case) the armies basic costs more than even grey knights (i would much rather have grey knights any way). So even the grey knights would outnumber you, so yes it is the smallest numbered army I could think of basic troop wise.
