I was wondering what squad size and equippment for Fire Warriors works best over all and also against specific armies.
Does anyone use grenades or carbines or markerlights? Are small squads of 6 more effective and tactically flexible or are full squads of 12?
Why bother with a Devilfish?

I'll use a devil fish for squads that i give the pulse carbines to. I never give them grenade. For the # of warriors i like 12 and bonded. I love markerlight for my leader w/targetlock.

i've started giving them photon grenades as they're cheap and if you get charged they're a lot of help (i actually whupped some guard in CC), i'll have to experiment with the marker light and target lock thingy

i don't bother with carbines, i like setting up my firewarriors in ranks to block lines and then sending in my elites/fast attack to flush the enemies out
less hate more kittens

I give markerlights to squad leaders when I'm against SM, 'cause I really want to make the shots count.

You need to give your leader a Markerlight to make him completely effective..........As for the squad size, always max out! A small squad will always take a major beating in the end.... And take Photon grenades, for +1 point a piece, this will really help! I was challeging a friend of mine and he charged me with Warp Spiders!! Luckily all the models he charged had Photon Grenades, so he only had one attack with each model!!

I think there is some value in small squads in low pt games. With twice as many 6 man squads you can control alot more of the board and setup a few more firelanes.

As Vampiric_drake says though, little squads will take a beating fast. A small squad only has to lose a few models to be understrength, and bonding is a flat 10 pts regardless of the # of models in the squad, so bigger is definetely better if you want them to last.
