i want to start another 40k army and i was interested in nids.
i currently play Night Lords.
i was looking through the latest codex ad saw a list that had like 6 carnifex's.
i know they are big and bad and can bee tooled up in any way possible but would something like that work??
the list had 2 hive tyrants, i think 6 fex's and like 2 tiny ripper swarms for troop choices.
so would a list like this actually work??
If you keep your Carnifex's low on points then you can take them as elites instead of heavy( as in don't bio-morph it too much). I don't recomend it. I don't have my codex on me right now but if I remember correctly the point limit pretty much makes your fex's useless, your points could be better spent elsewhere than on a elite fex.
But technically yes, you can have 6 carnifex
As for the Tyrant, I THINK you can have more than one ...I'm not 100% on that but I'm pretty sure you can. You will have to wait for one of the other guys to answer this one.
And if your wanting to get into bugs, then I wouldn't recomend getting anymore than 2 fex's. Use your third heavy slot for Biovores or Zoanthropes, I prefere Zoanthropes.

You can have 6 fexs and 2 tyrants but only 1 tyrant can have wings. In order to have 6 fexs you have to be playing at least 1500 points and 3 of them have to be less than 115 points. I do not recomend you use that as your army because its more of a novelty army than a winning one. MCs may be big but they arnt too hard to bring down sooooo unless the only reason your playing is to get killed but have some fun doing it than go ahead.
I preffer to only have 1 shooty fex and thats all my HS. Its pretty fun when you blow 2 tanks with 1 gun (barbed strangler). Iv never seen more than 1 fex on the feild at one time in games under 2000 points cause shooty fexes cost so much and arn't very fast.

Maybe, but it'd be a laugh, and you may well even have fun! Isn't that what this game's about?Originally Posted by Black Katalyst

It's not an army that a beginner should play as it requires some considerable handling, for veteran Nid players who are looking for just a fun game it's a good list.
Actually, its one of the most unbalanced army list in the whole 40k universe. The godzilla army is just like IG armored company, it stinks. Its all legal, not very good, unfuny, but legal....
Rant: I simply cant believe it! The fex pt cost is now WAY to high and they have lowered all its stats. To have a fex that is slightly better than an ork in shooting you have to model an ugly upgrade. What do we get in return? A horde of useless upgrade(hey, and to use them you need the super-ultra-brand-new GW $$$fex!) and the possibility to make an horribly unbalanced army. DIE GW
