Welcome to Librarium Online!
Hi. I normally play Tau and IG, but I recently inherited an Ork army. As I have a multitude of bits lying around, I've develpoed a problem.
What exacly counts as a choppa? Is it only the chainsaw looking close combat weapon? Or is it assumed that any weapon that 'uge enough can count as one? If it's only the specific bit, then man, I need a whole lotta choppas.
Emperor have mercy on those who stand against me, for I shall not.
I'm not an Ork player, but I assume it doesn't matter. Okay, you can't use a lascannon as one ( ) but I'm sure its not strict WYSIWYG. (What You See Is What You Get.) My friend has the old Goth(/Space?) Orks, and they have axe like weapons, but he uses them as Choppas, and everyone he plays allows it. I'd like to think any CC weapon Ork-ish enough is allowed to be used.
Any of the armed... well, arms... you get on the slugga boy sprue count towards a choppa. THat's the two axes, the chainsword, and the cleaver.
You can also model other alternatives on them. I've seen a few with a 2x4 with a nail through it, for example.
Basically anything in the hands of an ork counts as a choppa. The smaller, weedier knives you get on the sprue make perfect CCW for kommandos, while the stikkbommz work just as well in the hands of tankbustas and stikkbommaz.
"Some days you're the Mekboy building the kannon, the rest you're the grot being blown up by it."
- Quote attributed to Sorkrates, before his much mourned death due to ingestion of Hemsquig Juice.
"Dis iz my choppa, and herez me gun. Dat's for killin' and so'z dis one!"
- Bloodaxe Kommando Warchant
any of the weapons that the ork slugga boys can put on them. They are either an axe, a sword, or a big chain saw.
