Welcome to Librarium Online!
I'm still very interested in doing a seeding swarm list for my Tyranid army, but I'm not sure if they are going to survive this version of the rules.
Has anyone out there heard whether or not the Seeding Swarm list is getting updated. If it has already been updated somewhere on GW's web site maze, then please point me in the right direction.
Seeding swarm has been incorporated in the new codex. It is outdated and no longer chapter approved.
Could someone enlighten me as to what was in the 3rd edition seeding swarm rules/list?
It was a chapter approved list. It represented the begining of a tyranid invasion, when nids came on of the sky by myscetic spores. you couldnt use biovores nor rippers. All the army arrived by deep striking automaticaly. You could have without number gaunt(same ruling as now except it was free) for heavy support and ferocious troops(they were +1ws +1I but took a hit at stenght 2 at the begiining of each turn to represent the massive damage caused by drugs and I also think they could assult the turn they deepstriked) for fast attack.
Twas a pretty cool army matey!
Well, sorta. . . The entire army only deep-strikes in "Battle" missions.

This link has all the Seeding Swarm rules. Also you can use without number genestealers! Without number was a bit better because you could deepstrike the replacement brood onto the field rather than coming from the table edge. It is still legal army to use until the 2005 Chapter Approved comes out.

Ok, first off, it seems that I've been misunderstood again. I know the rules for Seeding Swarms and how they work. I've even got the CA with them in it.
What I was looking for was perhaps some news on whether they are going to update the list for the new codex any time soon.
I'm hoping that maybe someone at a Games Day event has asked or something along those lines. Two problems with this:It is still legal army to use until the 2005 Chapter Approved comes out.
1) I've heard from GW that there will not be a CA05. I have no clue why not, but apparently they just don't want to do a Chapter Approved book this year. It may turn out to be false, though, lets just wait and see.
2) It really can't still be a legal list considering that there are pieces of wargear for that army that aren't even available now in the new book, such as Hive Nodes. If you are saying it's still legal, do you mean it's still legal under the old rules set, sort of like you can still use the Catachans rules and ignore the new Imperial Guard codex?
First off, cute sig. To the point, I don't see how it can be legal unless you and your opponent agree to use V3. Sorry.Originally Posted by H0urg1ass
